One of my absolute favorite foo ds since I went low carb and gluten free is the “Better than Potatoes” Cheesy Cauliflower Puree – I eat it all the time!

Pepperoni Pizza Cauliflower Casserole

In fact, it’s so satisfying and filling, that I can make a meal out of just a bowl of the cauliflower puree, and nothing else. The other day I was starving, but also craving some protein, and all I had besides cauliflower and cheese was some pepperoni. Now I don’t even LIKE pepperoni, and I don’t know what possessed me to think that this would be a good idea, but I threw some pepperoni and shredded mozzarella into my magic bullet with the cauliflower, and blended it into a puree (along with the usual cream, butter, salt and pepper.) It was SO GOOD! The pepperoni added a complexity to it that is hard to describe – the slight sourness that pepperoni has just worked so well with the cauliflower – it was like culinary magic! They are also one of the easiest to make fresh from scratch, as there are no eggs involved. Instead these vegan-friendly treasures are made just using widely-available 'semolina' (durum wheat) flour, water and a little salt. Trofie originally hail from a charming fishing village called Camogli (below), which is close to the town of Rapallo on Italy's Ligurian coast. In this picture-perfect village all Camogli's buildings face the sea, the idea being that, this way, the fishermen's wives would always be able to look out for their hubbies coming home. And what would these ladies do while sat on their balconies? The local way of serving trofie is to smother them in another Ligurian speciality, fresh green basil pesto, to product a dish called locally trofie al pesto.

If more adventurous, you could even make what my mamma-in-law Marisa served the first time I spent Christmas with her. Ingredients: Salt. How To Make Strozzapreti Step By Step. How To Make Strozzapreti Step By Step I must admit that although I love just about any well-prepared pasta dish, I am particularly fond of handmade artisan pasta shapes such as this one.

How To Make Strozzapreti Step By Step

There is just something about starting with flour and water and ending up with a delicious pasta dish that is so satisfying. This particular pasta is called strozzapreti, which is translated as “priest choker”, or “priest strangler”. How the name originated is widely debated, one story being that glutenous priests ate so quickly that they choked themselves. Another theory is that a homemaker was in such a rage when making pasta that she choked the pasta dough when making it. I did a lot of research before endeavoring to make my strozzareti dough, wanting to ensure that it held up well to cooking, could handle a hearty sauce, but was still tender to the bite. You Will Need: 1 3/4 Cups All-purpose Flour 1 Cup Finely Ground Semolina Flour 1/2 Teaspoon Salt Warm Water Divide your dough into two pieces.

The Best Easy Homemade Pad Thai Recipe

After years of making homemade pad thai and being asked for the recipe, I’m finally sharing it today. It’s not that I never wanted to share the recipe before but this is something that I cook without a recipe so it takes some discipline to actually make myself measure everything out and write it down. I also struggle with getting dinner made before it gets dark outside and I don’t like sharing recipe posts with less than stellar photos.

I was determined to finally make the recipe yesterday so when I got home from the gym at 7 p.m. it was like an episode of Iron Chef to get this dish together before it got dark.
