March 12th, 2012 Evan Roth has been living and making new work in Detroit for the last month, gearing up for a solo exhibition that opens this Wednesday at Eastern Michigan University: Welcome to Detroit . His new series of artworks is called: Propulsion Paintings.Chile País de Diseño, por su trayectoria y áreas temáticas en las cuales se mueve, se adjudicó por Innova Chile un proyecto orientado a mejorar el Entorno de Emprendimiento de MUJERES DISEÑADORAS, en diversas disciplinas: diseño industrial, gráfico, ambiental, etc, en donde a través de diversas actividades tanto en la región Metropolitana V y VI, entregaremos herramientas para potenciar y poner en prácticas las capacidades y habilidades de este grupo objetivo caracterizándolo además con un enfoque de género, siendo sus objetivos los siguientes: Fortalecer las capacidades de liderazgo en las mujeres. Fortalecer y entregar herramientas para incorporar habilidades y mejorar la gestión de estas diseñadoras no sólo al interior de la empresa, sino para mejorar canales de comunicación con clientes y proveedores.

Por primera vez en 10 años de trabajar como diseñador industrial, decidí participar en los Premios Quórum 2011 , que durante varios años han sido considerados como uno de los mejores premios en la industria del diseño nacional (en México), si no es que los más reconocidos. El lunes pasado fue la ceremonia de entrega en El Palacio de Bellas Artes. Como la mayor parte de mi carrera profesional he trabajado fuera de México, en esta ocasión quise participar por primera vez en estos premios para probarlos y tener la oportunidad de ganar este reconocimiento.

"La palabra "diseño" es utilizada hoy con reiterada insistencia, aplicada a los más diversos objetos de uso cotidiano, a formas de comunicación gráfica y visual o a determinadas actividades profesionales creativas, intentar la definición del mismo es correr el riesgo de caer en una fórmula poco precisa, si se piensa que se pisa en terreno poco explorado en el que todavía no hay suficiente experiencia y cuya enseñanza y metodología se encuentran en estado incipiente". Definición 68: "El diseño industrial es, básicamente, la operación de concebir, idear y proyectar un objeto independientemente de los medios en los que se plasma el proyecto y antes de iniciar su producción".
