Facebook for Education
Facebook (fb) was created for social networking and unfortunately is often known more for its negative connotations than it is for the good things that can come from it. There is also a huge debate over whether employers should be allowed to view the profiles of job applicants and current employees. I will not discuss the ethics of this discussion here, as this is about the good things facebook CAN be used for. As a future teacher, I see the potential uses for fb. It can help me increase my involvement as a member of the educational online community (defined below) as well as communicate with students and their parents. Educational Online Community

The MuseumMobile wiki is an outgrowth of Tate’s Handheld Conference Wiki , which was initially developed for a September 2008 conference hosted by Tate Modern . It is a free public wiki and continues to grow as a repository for resources, best practice, and conversation about mobile interpretation and technologies for museums and cultural sites. It includes the project pages for the Museums to Go open source/open platform mobile development project among others. We also capture tweets that use the #mtogo hashtag here . Technology Integration Matrix The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) provides a foundation for professional development for technology integration and a common vocabulary for talking about effective uses of technology in teaching and learning. The original 2005-2006 TIM included fifty example video lesson plans. The newly revised TIM was launched in February 2011, and features 100 classroom video example lesson plans, revised and expanded descriptions of student activity, teacher activity, and instructional settings for each TIM cell, focus pages for each characteristic and level, new professional development resources, and indices for grade levels and digital tools. The site includes 25 videos lesson examples in each of four core subject areas – math, science, language arts, and social studies.

This is an advanced course normally taken by science or engineering majors after taking at least two semesters of calculus (although calculus really isn't a prereq) so don't confuse this with regular high school algebra.

This list of online tools was created as a support site to go along with a presentation well before Web 2.0 tools were used to support teaching and learning. Since that time, links to a few Web 2.0 portals have been added and the links have been checked for validity, but the list is almost the same as it was in 2001, when it was first created.
So…. I use it, ish. Foursquare in my life has come and gone for the most part. I used it when it first launched and was mayor of everything!
