At whatGFX we calculate our benchmarks a little differently to other sites to help make the final scores more appropriate to those who want to actually buy the best gaming graphics cards on the market. This table shows all of the reference editions of the graphics cards produced by NVIDIA and AMD ranked from fastest to slowest. While you can't buy the older cards it's still a good comparison. Our performance score is calculated by adding the results of a couple of software benchmark tools with some of the directly comparable hardware statistics, such as GFLOPs, gigapixels/second, power consumption and a few others. These weighted metrics are tuned to rank hardware specifications over some potentially arbitrary software benchmarks or some of the more esoteric specifications.

from the oh-the-people-you'll-sue dept Another week, another batch of comments. This week on the insightful side, the top three votegetters were so close that I'm just going to post all three. Eking out the narrow victory to the top spot was an Anonymous Coward who compared the situation of Bernie Madoff to Kim Dotcom (who had all of his things seized illegally by the government): If you run a giant ponzi scheme like Bernie Madoff, you're granted bail and none of your assists are initially seized.Engadget

We've heard recently of CISPA, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act , a bill currently making its way through Congress that many are calling the latest incarnation of SOPA. Reader SolKeshNaranek points out an article at Techdirt explaining exactly why this bill is bad , and how its backers are trying to deflect criticism by using language that's different and rather vague. Quoting: "The bill defines 'cybersecurity systems' and 'cyber threat information' as anything to do with protecting a network from: ' (A) efforts to degrade, disrupt, or destroy such system or network; or (B) theft or misappropriation of private or government information, intellectual property, or personally identifiable information. ' It's easy to see how that definition could be interpreted to include things that go way beyond network security — specifically, copyright policing systems at virtually any point along a network could easily qualify."rowwor BEWARE Aurora users!!!
