DIY Clothes. How to Make a Fork Bracelet. I've always loved taking everyday items and making them into something interesting. Ever since I was a little crafty kid I loved devouring books that taught me how to make little dolls from clothespins, beads from rolled up magazines, and little fairy ornaments from wire and fake flower petals. The first time I saw my friend wearing a bracelet made from a fork a few years ago, I knew I had to try it (*ahem Carly ;)).
I wrote up a tutorial a while back, but I've had some questions about the directions I gave so I decided to make a proper tutorial with a video! :) (Please excuse my intro, if you can't hustle your website on your Youtube channel, where else are you supposed to do it? ;)) What you need:♥ A fork. I think these forks are the easiest to use, and I've used a lot of different forks. :)♥ Pliers, 3 pairs. 1 jewelry pair, 1 regular pair or needle nose, and an adjustable wrench.♥ Piece of thick fabric like denim or corduroy.♥ Strong hands. The other wrist. Gold Easy Crochet Bow Bracelet. I made the gorgeous Crochet Bow Bracelet after I saw something similar in a magazine.
For the life of me I can't figure out which magazine I saw it in, but if I find it I promise to upload a pic and show you how similar it is. I used 28 Gauge wire and started with the bow.... I crocket a rectangle for the bow. The height of the bow depends on you, add more rows for a bigger bow, less for a smaller one, but I would use at least four rows to get a "fluffy" looking bow. DIY Geode Cuff. Looks like I'm not alone in my love for sparkly and colorful rocks! I've received tons of love for my agate necklace, thanks (...I made it)! Also, Grace over at Stripes and Sequins put together this pretty roundup of geode goodness, Carly at Chic Steals made some rock star (ha) worthy earrings, and Alicia at Dismount Creative beat us all to the punch with this geode cocktail ring from her DIY archives.
When I was thinking about how to use my agate slice, I considered attaching it to a cuff I had. But, like the agate, that cuff was used for another project. However, I found a blank, hinged cuff at a bead store, plus a sparkly rock to top it off. Finger Knitting How-to. You know how I just wrote about how I like getting a handmade gift more than just about anything. Well, this is anything. Sitting on the couch on a lazy Sunday, knitting with my kids . . . that beats gift-getting for sure. It is a gift itself. We just sat there side-by-side, for about an hour, feeling the warmth from each other’s bodies, listening to music from my computer and basking in each others company as the sun streamed through the windows. The two kiddos are finger-knitting, which I’ve written about before and again, but it continues to be a favorite activity.
You end up with a long coil of knitting like this, that curls itself into a sort of tube. My son is using a finer and less expensive yarn, here. They really do enjoy the process. Some day, I’ll make a coiled rug from the pieces. **UPDATE: So many people have asked me for a PDF of the below how-to so they can take the directions on the road for their kiddos. Materials: Any yarn An eager kiddo Time: However long you want! Geofftech - Tube - Silly Tube Maps. There is the tube map as you've grown to know and love it, and there are spins offs - many spins off, that I've come across and collected, and are all nicely here for you in one place. Some are useful, some are a little silly. Click on the smaller thumbnails of each map for the full size version. Somewhat Useful ... Realistic Geographical Map Here's what the tube system really looks like if it were drawn accurately! This map was made by Simon Clarke, who has his own website with other tube maps at www.simonclarke.org/lul/ and I believe that an updated version of the geographical map is being worked upon.
The Real Underground A map which I made myself in a spare hour or two. Slightly deceiving is the fact that many of the 'cut and cover' stations on the circle line do break out into the open occasionally, and some whole stations (e.g. It's quicker to walk The quickest way to get around London is not always to take the train! Inspiration : bird tattoos + DIY temporary tattoos. I've been having a love affair with bird motifs since many years now, so my heart skipped a beat when I saw a flock of birds' tattoo for the first time. I've been collecting them since then. I know bird tattoos are currently super trendy, but I love them anyway! As far as I'm concerned, I'm not ready for a tattoo (I have a VERY low tolerance to pain), so as an alternative, I opted for temporary transfer tattoos!
Yes, just like those we found as inserts in bubble gums when we were kids. You need : 1. 2. 3. 1. 2. 3. It can last up to 7 days, but mine started cracking after 4 days, so I dissolved it with baby oil. I felt like a little girl, and it was super fun! 101 Simple Handmade Gift Tutorials.
