After visiting the Mediterranean twice this past year, I’ve come to embrace the ubiquity that is the evil eye symbol and have since integrated it into the jewelry repertoire. Today I’ll be showing you how to make a sliding knot bracelet with an evil eye charm, which is thought to protect against negative energy and evil powers. And whether you’re superstitious or not, this is a super simple method which can be applied to any connector or charm! You’ll need: Thread 4 inches of cord through one side of the charm. Fold 2 inches of cord back on itself and then again to create a zig zag. Fold an inch of the tip down over the parallel cords. Coil the cord three times towards the loop.
Thread the tip through the opening of the left loop. Push the coil to the right and pull the tip until the knot is tight. Thread the other end of the cord through the opposite side of the charm and create the same zig zag. Coil the tip around all the cords three times and thread the tip through the loop. Bracelets Out Of Soda Tops. DIY Woven Bracelet & Necklace. I’ve been itching to make myself some jewelry inspired by Aurélie Bidermann’s “Do Brasil” line. Since I don’t have 300 Euros lying around, this looked like a design I could recreate on my own. I was primed to put together a DIY Tutorial for you all when I discovered that Honestly WTF had already done the honors. I picked up the gold necklace and the two bracelet chains from an antique shop for $5 a piece, and had the embroidery thread on hand. I only needed scissors and two bobby pins to see this project through. Pretty amazing results, no? Jump on over here for the tutorial. NECKLACE: I used shades of pale blue and turquoise embroidery thread, and wove through one side of the chain to mimic this necklace. CHARM BRACELET: This bracelet was already armed with charms. DOUBLE BRAIDED BRACELET: For this bracelet, I removed the charm and just used the chain.

I love the summer friendship bracelet trend that i keep seeing in blog land, so i thought it would be fun to share with you another way to weave a friendship bracelet. one of the parents at work showed me this technique of using a circular cardboard loom and i love how quick it goes, you can easily finish a bracelet in one sitting. - cardboard - something small and circular (like a teacup or ramekin) - scissors, ruler, pen - embroidery thread in pretty colors , thin yarn, or ribbon trace a circle onto your cardboard, and use a ruler to draw 8 lines cut a small ways into each line, between 1/2 an inch to an inch and make a hole in the middle of the circle where all the lines intersect. cut 7 strands of embroidery floss, about 24 inches long and tie them together with a slip knot. pull your thread bundle through the hole in your cardboard with the knot right up next to the hole and use a little piece of tape to hold it in place while you start. now for the fun part!
