Two serving Metropolitan police officers have been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and perjury in connection with the death in custody of musician Sean Rigg. A retired officer has also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Mr Rigg died from a cardiac arrest at Brixton police station in 2008, and an inquest jury found that police officers used “usuitable” force after arresting him. The Independent Police Complaints Commission said the arrests were in connection with an on-going inquiry into evidence given at the inquest.
