Mashallah: Archive. "Creative Memory" is an archiving project of multi-media art from the Syrian Revolution.
From their personal statement: “Although most of the cultural and artistic output of the Syrian revolution is available somewhere on the internet, it rushes by and is difficult to find soon after its initial launching.To create an online archive therefore serves a double aim : to gather and spread the messages expressed by the different artworks and other cultural productions and to help Syria’s artistic resistance, be it individuals or groups, to create networks among themselves and connect to the outside world.” The site is so comprehensive, even those who have been closely following cultural production in Syria are guaranteed to find something new. In browsing for just a few minutes, we found this great track by El Ras & Mumna, sculptures about displacement by Assam al-Basha; and a short film about the life of a nurse in one of the makeshift hospitals in an area under fire.
