I Love Typography
A review by James Puckett Jim Williams is a senior lecturer at Staffordshire University, where he compiled an excellent series of student handouts about typography. In 2010 the handouts were featured on Creative Review’s blog which generated interest from publishers. The handouts have now been published in book form as Type Matters . Williams is well qualified to write this title; he has worked as a typographer and designer since 1982 and has taught design at Staffordshire University for eighteen years. Digitized & Drawn by Aaron Carambula I’ve been AFFoT (away from friends of type) for about 3 months now. That’s because I started working at a startup and we’ve got lots of stuff to make. It’s incredible how much can be done with the kind of focus this environment provides. In addition to working on product we’ve undertaken a rebranding, from Coursekit to Lore, and I am very lucky to have had the chance to lead the design process and make myself a logo.Colophon Typographica is a review of typefaces and type books, with occasional commentary on fonts and typographic design. Edited by Stephen Coles , also of Fonts In Use and The Mid-Century Modernist . Founded in 2002 by Joshua Lurie-Terrell . Relaunched in 2009 by Coles and Chris Hamamoto . Set in Anchor by Eric Olson, FF Dagny by Örjan Nordling and Göran Söderström, FF Quadraat by Fred Smeijers, and Lucida Sans/Grande by Charles Bigelow and Kris Holmes.
