At one point in your design career you might need to create a die line or a die-cut in your layout. This is how you do it. A die line or die cut is the area on a layout that will be cut to a specific shape, such as the one below. You will first need to create an outline of the shape to be die cut. The outline will be given a spot color stroke that the printer will use as a guide to make the die cut. Once the shape is outlined, go to the swatches palette and create a new color swatch.
It is important that the color type for this new color is set to “Spot Color”, so that a separate plate is created for the die line. The die line you’ve created should be positioned over the area that will be die cut. Batelco Infinity Bringing Ideas to Life. Batelco, Bahrain Telecommunications Company, brings Toronto to life in “Infinity”, a three minute short film demonstrating the power of imagination. Visual effects and stunning photography reveal the incredible realities that exist within the minds of everyday citizens, normally considered possible only in dreams (as in Inception).
The launch of the film was promoted on the Batelco Infinity Facebook page with two trailers, interviews with people behind the scenes and a “making-of” videos. By Jodi Friedman of MCP Actions: Photoshop Actions and Training There are literally dozens of ways to saturate your colors in Photoshop.
For this post I am going to focus on one way to pop colors using “Channel Mixer” adjustment layers. To start with, locate an image that could benefit from more vibrant color, overall or in selected spots. Of course, you likely will want to correct exposure and white balance prior to working on color. Once you pull up the adjustment layer, you will adjust settings in the dialog box. For example, if you start with red, and put red at 150%, then you would split the difference to = 100%. Remember, all three outputs need to be treated the same.
When you saturate color, make sure you are not losing details and that your colors are printable. With masking, you have 2 choices. For this tutorial, I am going explain, hiding the effect and painting it on where desired. So after getting your channel numbers set, you will invert your mask.
