Artoyz.fr What is Artoyz ? Born from the mutual passion of 4 friends from graphic arts and toy figures, Artoyz was created on 2003 after the discovery of a new art trend coming from Asia : the designer toy or urban vinyl. Artoyz.com was the first entity to be born on 2003. Since day one we offer you a selection both eclectic and sharp for every purse based on toy design and graphic arts. Ok designer toy sounds cool, but what do you offer concretely? Artoyz presents a large selection of figures from keychains to 70 inch figures, a whole range of products to start or complete your collection, or just decorate home or office. And of course, if you are into DIY, we offer you a large range of figures to practice your custom skills and a very complete collection of Posca pencils and markers to make your own creations. Who makes all these art toys? We run our own production label, Artoyz Originals, and we publish the creations of many artists. And you only offer figures from that graphic culture?

Design Icon: Raymond Loewy | Crowbar Studios Blog | Crowbar Studios Blog - Thoughts on websites, culture, and business. Massimo Vignelli once said, “A good designer must be able to design anything from a spoon to a city.” This means that the principles of good design are universal, and that these same principles must be applied to everything from logos to websites, to packaging, to planets. Raymond Loewy is perhaps the most influential designer of the last 100 years, having designed nearly everything in our modern world. His life and work spanned the majority of the 20th century, following changes in style and technology. We’ve been sort of obsessed with him recently at the studio, wanting to emulate his creative drive and passion for industry. We participate in multi-disciplinary design, (right now as I write this we’re working on a corporate identity and branding system, a website, and snowboard equipment. But something about his life and flare for style is mysteriously inspiring. This is a glance back at the persona, work, home, and life of Raymond Loewy. The Studebaker Champion: Avanti Print ads:

Accidental Renaissance: the photos that look like Italian paintings | Art and design Currently doing the rounds on Twitter is the image below, taken from Facebook by artist James Harvey, whose tweet has been shared thousands of times. It depicts one of the fairly frequent brawls in Ukrainian parliament which, while undoubtedly ugly to fans of democracy and national stability, is beautiful on a purely aesthetic level. Someone took a candid photo of a fight in Ukranian Parliament that is as well-composed as the best renaissance art pic.twitter.com/BBhw6rdT3l— James Harvey (@jamesharveytm) August 6, 2014 The Fibonacci spiral has been placed on top of it to show just why its elements cohere so satisfyingly. Renaissance painters used this ‘Golden Ratio’ to arrange the elements in the most biologically pleasing – and therefore divinely anointed – order. A court photographer obviously didn’t have the kind of time Michelangelo did to compose his image, but its serendipity makes it even more magical.
