I thought the whole concept of food in a jar deserved a post all of it’s own. So this weeks Saturday Inspiration post is dedicated to all the glorious foods … You can put in a jar: desserts in a jar, bread in a jar, appetizers in a jar, meals in a jar, drinks in a jar… I think you can pretty much put anything in jar and it instantly becomes a million times cuter!

Now I want to save even more jars! The Sunday Showcase starts tonight … I can’t wait to see what you have been working on this week! Hope you are having a fabulous weekend ~Enjoy. Food. It all started with cheese. i fell in love with Taleggio cheese since Jess introduced it to me. so i made this pie on an icy cold day while on holiday with my family last winter. it was a hit – the cheese and the mushroom and the flaky pastry are a perfect combination. you can actually see my mom slapping my brother’s hand away from it in one of the photos. it was gone in 5 minutes. it’s also a super easy recipe to make, especially since you use ready-made puff pastry that can be bought at any good supermarket. you all know i’m not the most prolific cook – so if i can get away with making something delicious with minimal effort, then that’s exactly what’s going to happen. taleggio can be quite difficult to find*, and the imported Italian varieties are often pretty expensive. you can substitute with other semi-soft cheeses like fontina, havarti or raclette – though i would highly recommend hunting down some taleggio if you can!

Mushroom & Taleggio Cheese Pie. Recipes. An Update and A New Blog! By KarenMarch 26, 2013 Goodness, it has been a LONG while since I've posted a new post– practically a whole year! My life the past year has not been as silent as Globetrotter Diaries has been as I have been in the trenches of law school. But with almost half of school behind me, I've undertaken a new project. I decided that I'd make him some super special Fudge Striped cookies for Valentine's Day. You start with a simple shortbread cookie recipe and then add some melted chocolate, not nearly as daunting as I thought they might be.

To make your own Fudge Striped Shortbread at home you will need: For the Cookies: 2 sticks of softened butter 1/2 cup vanilla sugar (you could also use 1/2 cup regular sugar and add in 1 tsp vanilla flavor instead) 2 cups flour (plus extra for rolling out your cookies/dusting your cookie cutters) For the Fudge Stripes: 1 cup chopped dark chocolate 2 Tablespoons butter or coconut oil Start by creaming your butter and sugar together in a bowl. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees (F). Select your cookie cutters (I chose the heart shapes above) and cut out your cookie shapes. I melt my chocolate in the microwave, but you can use a double boiler if you like. Recipes. I ♥ Food. Disney Recipes. Now, I have a chocolate chip cookie recipe that I swear by. I love it, I think it is incredible, and I haven’t changed my mind about that. However, as much as it pains me to say it, these chocolate chip cookies by Jacques Torres are absolutely, without a doubt, the best chocolate chip cookies that I have ever made or tasted in my entire life. I guess that’s why they call him Mr. Chocolate! These are a chocolate chip cookie of another color, that’s for sure. To begin, they use both cake flour and bread flour – that’s right, there is no all-purpose flour to be found in these beauties. Either way, I made these and everyone that tried them went nuts.

Whisk together the cake flour, bread flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Beat together the butter and sugars, until light and fluffy, at least 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla. Buzz - Foodbuzz.

Food. Food. Recipes. Guest post by Jeannette of Everybody Likes Sandwiches Fall is apple season and because apples are in my top 3 of Best Fruit Ever list, I always have plenty on hand. My apple buying spree starts in August when early Mac Spurs, Gravensteins, Kings, Wealthy and Sunrise varieties start showing up on my farmer's mailing list. And throughout the fall, I pick up Pink Ladies and Granny Smiths from my local market to add more variety.

I am a little apple obsessed. But sometimes there's an apple that is mealy from the get go. It doesn't have the flavour, crunch or excitement that other apples have. And when you have applesauce, why not make applesauce cake? What takes this cake extra up a notch is booze. This is the perfect dessert to whip up when company comes over for a visit. You don't need to make applesauce from scratch to make this cake. Now for the cake, use whatever kind of dried fruit and nuts speak to you best (or whatever you've got hanging around your cupboard).
