Si se diera el suficiente porcentaje de esos estudiantes en una población determinada, la mejora en sus vidas académicas podría hacer surgir incluso una comparación entre el aprendizaje anterior y posterior a la OER. No tiene sentido usar la OER de la misma forma en que usábamos los libros de texto y el material escolar clásico.
