Es un sitio excepcional del cual te enamorarás al segundo. Su nombre proviene del nahuatl manine (Animal que se arrastra) y tepetl (lugar); lo cual se interpreta como "lugar de lagartos". Su longitud es de 6 kilómetros, donde alrededor se acostumbra a pescar especies de mojarra, robalo y bagre. Tiene una gran riqueza en la presencia de fauna silvestre y marina, al igual que se identifica por su inigualable animación de aves. ¿Qué lo hace tan especial? ¡La bioluminiscencia es la mayor atracción del lugar! ¿Por qué sucede esto? Porque está poblado de millones de micro-organismos que generan luz o “brillo” en el agua como resultado de una reacción química entre substancia.

¿Cuándo ir? Si quieres presenciar este evento es mejor asistir en época de lluvias, ya que al anochecer podrás ver un espectáculo en el agua.
