Nutter Butter- Peanut Butter Pie If you hadn’t heard already, our food blogging friend Jennie lost her husband Mikey last week. It was a sudden and unexpected loss. The kind of loss that is unfair in every way. In the midst of grieving for her lost love, she asked the world to make a peanut butter pie (Mikey’s favorite) and share it with someone they love.
Well these naughty little treats are well….naughty but oh so necessary. There are a bit like my Brownie Covered Oreo’s from last Christmas but enhanced with layers of peanut butter and a double decker stack of Oreos in each little brownie cake. They are simply prepared in cupcake liners. Hope you enjoy this ultra sweet little cake Ok, I have to brag about this brownie mix from Trader Joes for a second.

By Lauren, on July 20th, 2012 I know, I know… it seems as though I’ve been posting sweet recipe after sweet recipe (with a little something cheesy thrown in); but you see, after what seemed like a long time during which sweets were unappealing during my first trimester, (what can I say, pregnancy does some strange things to your body!)
This is one of those ‘I-need-a-cookie-right-now-or-I-die’ recipes that can be prepared in almost no time. We all know that kind of situation, don’t we?
Difficulty: Easy | Total Time: | Makes: 1 (9-inch) loaf This banana bread starts as a thick, tangy batter full of mashed banana, and emerges from the oven with a golden-brown crust and a moist, almost cakelike texture. Game plan: We tested this recipe using a stand mixer, but it could easily be made by just stirring all the ingredients together in a large bowl.
Cream Filled Strawberries : Choose fresh strawberries that will sit flat. If you find the strawberries are a little wobbly with the stems left on, cut the green stems off so the strawberries will stand upright when placed on your serving tray. Then, with a small sharp knife, cut an "X" into each strawberry, starting at the top of the strawberry and cutting down almost to the bottom of the strawberry. (The cut should be such that the strawberry will open up but not fall apart.) Gently, with your fingertips, spread each strawberry apart to make "petals".
This is such a TERRIBLE idea. Saw this and tried it. The chocolate needed to be melted, and the heat of it popped the balloons, made SUCH A MESS. A few stubborn attempts later, we had 2 chocolate balloons that hadn't popped. After cooling, we attempted to pop the balloons out of the chocolate cups and they stuck to the inside leaving balloon bits stuck to the chocolate. We ended up throwing it all away.
"What are you doing?" my husband asked. He was staring at me as if I had eighteen heads, each with 20 piercings and Mike Tyson-esque tattoos. "Making Campfire Bananas," I said. In my head, his question was quite possibly the dumbest one I had ever heard him ask.
Banana Split Bites ~ A classic ice cream dessert gets mini for some bite size fun. And yes, there is actually a tiny scoop of ice cream tucked inside and underneath the whip cream of those little darlings. Banana Split Mini Bites For once I made something mini for portion control and not just for the cute factor.
(Every week, Zoomdoggle’s latest contributor spills the beans on how to inflate tasty treats into giant sweets. First up, yummi bears). Word on the street is, Zoomdoggle’s got a bit of a crush on Gummi Bears. Ready to pimp those cub-sized bites? All it takes is a bag or two, a melting pot, and a honey bear to make them hulk-out. The pictures tell the story.
There are plenty of reasons to make your own protein bars.
I know, I’ve made a few pies lately . But see how these are different? Look at how adorable these are! I mean, come on. Could you resist?
