Picture books are printed on one big sheet of paper which is then cut into pieces; each piece of paper that goes into the book equals four pages, right and left, front and back. Making the dummy After you have done storyboards and tiny thumbnail dummies, make at least one rough dummy to work out the structure of your book. When you're ready to do the final dummy pages, make sure that the sketches show all the important aspects of the illustrations. (If you work only digitally, even your sketches are probably in color.
