Terms used: st – stitch ch – chain sc – single crochet (UK double crochet) sl-st – slip stitch BLO – back loops only FLO – front loops only dec – decrease over 2 stitches FO – finish off Crochet in spiral, do not join the rounds 1. make 6 sc in magic ring, or ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook From now on work in BLO 2. 2 scs in each st (12 sts) 3. *2 scs in first st, sc in next st* repeat around (18 sts) 4. *2 scs in first st, sc in next 2 sts* repeat around (24 sts) 5. *2 scs in first st, sc in next 3 sts* repeat around (30 sts) Continue until you get the right size, then make a sl-st 6. ch 8 (you can do more, if you like, but I think it works best) and sl-st back 7. join to the front loop of the previous st with sl-st, ch 8, sl-st back… If you want your coral to be high, do as follows:
Coral Reef #1 | Tako-san. I do realize that the rock alone looks creepy. But! Stuffing doesn’t look good either, innit? Nevertheless, I’ll post the very first coral pattern, so you could see what I’m thinking about. Well, I don’t know how to name those creatures properly, so you’ll have to forgive me. Curlique Ghost Applique Free Pattern Halloween Decorations. Crochet Green Anemone Pattern. I loved this bright beauty! In the wild it grows over 6" wide and can be as much as a foot tall. Here is my version which began as a round with randomly added tentacles. I did not create a base for it which would make it look a bit like a mushroom does but I may do that in the end.
Pattern: Rnd1: make a circle with 4 ch sts Rnd 2: sc 8-10 in the circle and mark the end of the rnd Rnd 3: 2 sc in ea sc Rnd 4: 2sc in nxt sc, sc in nxt sc. repeat around Rnd 5: 2sc in nxt sc, sc in nxt 2sc. repeat around Rnd 6: 2sc in nxt sc, sc in nxt 3sc. repeat around Continue to increase the number of sc between increases until your piece is as large as you want it to be and tie off. Tentacles: attach the yarn to the base using a sl st and chain 4, 5 OR 6. The tentacles are placed randomly using various lengths along the way in whatever pattern you prefer. Enjoy! Pink Anemone Oasis Pattern for the Maine Crochet Reef Project. Here is my newest creation and one I was able to keep track of as I made it so I can pass it on to you. I love this little piece! It stands a little over 8" tall and the base is about 6" across. As with all of my pieces, I have mostly been using my mom's leftover yarn stash that has been building for years. This is sport weight acrylic baby yarn in pink.
The anemone's are done using a G hook and the base with a J hook. Mid Sized Fat One - Follow directions as for the tall skinny one until the piece measures 4 1/2" - pick up the directions just after "measures 6 1/2" in the tall version - Continue the 2sc in ea st for 5 rows and tie off - Finish off with a round of cotton thread as before and tie off Baby One - ch 20 st and join to make a ring - sc in ea st for 1" - Dec 3 evenly in the next rnd - Sc til the piece measures 2" - Dec 3 evenly in the next rnd - Sc til the piece measures 3" - sc til the piece measures 4" - pick up the directions just after "measures 6 1/2" in the tall version.
