THE HU To Appear On METALLICA Anniversary Project

The Hu to appear on Metallica’s 30th Anniversary ‘Black Album’ Reissue plus share update on new album - The Rockpit. Chart-topping rock act from Mongolia, The Hu, have been announced as part of Metallica‘s Special 30th Anniversary ‘Black Album‘ Reissue Covers Project, on which they cover the iconic group’s song “Through the Never.”

They appear on the track listing alongside some of the biggest names in music – Elton John, Miley Cyrus, Yo-Yo Ma, St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, J Balvin with the Neptunes, Weezer, and many many more – who offer their own renditions of Metallica’s songs that originally appeared on the legendary LP. All profits from the project, formally titled The Metallica Blacklist, will be split evenly between the All Within My Hands Foundation and 50+ charities chosen by the artists who play on the album. Currently adorning the cover of January’s UK Metal Hammer, The Hu have been ear marked as one of the bands taking metal into a new era, The HU are enjoying a high profile start to their 2021, and the minting of this new coin, scheduled for release next month, can only boost the quartet’s profile further. Speaking in this month’s Metal Hammer, the group are keenly aware that they’re now being looked at as trailblazers for the Mongolian music scene, and indeed the global metal scene, but are relishing the challenge of reaching a wider audience.

“It’s not easy to be the ice-breaker”, admits multi-instrumentalist Jaya. “Following in someone’s footsteps is easier most of the time.
