I loved pretty much every gown I saw and definitely noticed that the one-shoulder style was the dominating silhouette on the red carpet. As for hair, we saw pretty much everything! Kristin Wiig, Natalie Portman and Angelina Jolie went with down and flowy; Jennifer Lopez, Tina Fey and Rooney Mara did buns of all shapes and sizes; and Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper and Emma Stone did elegant updos. I think my favorite hair for the night was the bob. Rose Byrne wore a straight bob with bangs, Milla Jovovich had a curly bob, and Penélope Cruz wore her hair in a faux old-Hollywood bob. These ladies inspired me to show you a quick tutorial on how to wear your hair in a bob.
You can do it even if your hair is long—just like Penélope did! First, part your hair where you want to wear it. Next, use a curling iron to create some shape. Do a very low, loose braid at the nape of your neck. After securing your braid with a hair tie, tuck it up into your hair and pin in place. Tutorial: Fresh and Simple Everyday Makeup. Tutorial & Reference - Eye Diagram, Parts of the Eye, Basic Eye Makeup. I have received a few questions lately about what parts of the eye are which, and I thought it would be a good time to re-post this diagram I made last year that I hope is helpful. I always call out where I put each product for every look (because unfortunately, I don’t have time to do a tutorial every time), and when I do, I use the same names for each part of the eye that it is applied to. Brow Bone/Highlight: Generally, a lighter color will be applied to this area; it may be something that has undertones of bolder colors used on the lid, or it may simply be similar to your skintone.
For example, say I do a predominantly green look, I might turn to MAC’s Gorgeous Gold eyeshadow as a highlight color because it will bring out the greens and still allow the color to taper off. Some of my favorite highlight colors are Ricepaper and Shroom. Above Crease: This is my “blend out” area. Inner Lid: I mentally slice my eyelid into three parts–basically into thirds.

I have been asked several times how I achieved the bohemian hair style pictured in my DIY: Double Strand Lace Headband. It is very easy but a few pictures should help you achieve this simple and beautiful look. To make the hair style more complex you can braid small strands of hair on the underside. It is not nessicary for the final boho look just something extra you can add. Place your headband over the top of your hair…like so. Starting at one side start to tuck your hair into the headband.
Continue to tuck your hair all the way around and roll it in with your hands until it is the size you want all the way around. Once it is even, you can pull a few wisps out if you like or keep it smoothly tucked in. Video Tutorial: Waterfall Twist. This is a very cute and elegant hairstyle that's appropriate for a night out. I really like this style because it is so quick to do and the result seems like you've spent a great amount of time doing it. Notice the bun on mine is kind of messy is because I was in a rush. I did this just under 10 minutes but if you were to spent a little more time on it, it'll look more clean and defined. My idea derived from Scarlett Johansson and Misha Barton's sidebun sweep (see pictures below).
