Damn it, Jim, I’m a teacher, not a statistician!

There, I’ve said it. Every year around this time, I get a little booklet slipped into my mailbox at school detailing how well my students did on their English 30 diploma exams, worth 50% of their final mark. I’ve always felt a bit nervous as I open up these booklets, perhaps as nervous as the students themselves as they open their own envelopes and look at their own grades. I look at my top students and see how they did on the diploma, and my weaker students to see how they did. TRANSMEDIA NEWS. Peace One Day – What can we do? This is cross-posted from my blog because it is just that important a message.

Peace One Day – What can we do?

I just watched this amazing TED talk by Jeremy Gilley. I thought to myself, what I can do on this day to support peace? I’ve decided that one thing I will do is blog about peace, and share Jeremy’s message with everyone I know. I’m going to share the idea with my students, and we will brainstorm ways we too can get involved. World peace isn’t the job of one person, it’s everyone’s job.
