I’m sure there are thousands of fantasy maps posted on-line. Below are links to over 101 fantasy cities and towns. It can be useful to see such a large and varied set of examples to help you design your map. While looking at these, you may want to borrow part of a city or town’s layout, a map’s color scheme, or some other feature of a map.
All are meant to be printed at 150 pixels per inch. As with the cardboard miniatures, please feel free to use them for your own game sessions, art projects, and other not-for-profit pastimes. They'll work with any game that uses hexagons for a map grid; print at different resolutions if the grid doesn't match your existing maps.

These maps can be used for your generic Asian Campaign, for the adventures on this site, or to inspire your own creations. The maps are mostly in jpg format, which should be ok for casual gaming. If you think the maps should be in higher resolution, let me know, I might redo them. So here are the maps:

Making a map in Dundjinni – part eight : 4EYes – Roleplaying
Today, we’re gonna make some final touches to our Eastport map, then I will make something I’ve been thinking of for a long time, which I really saw the need for during this map, more bushes. I will make some using Bryce . But first, I said I needed some burrows to the south part of Eastport, and I did find a few, made by the very talented Greytale, at Greytake’s nook . So, we start pick those burrows from the Dundjinni site, and install them into Dundjinni, and then we place them on the map. I also made some changes to the grass here, putting a new grass texture and adding some bits and pieces of cover grass spots and stones, to make it feel a little wilder.’Participate to the Endless Dungeon! The Endless Dungeon is an ambitious project that will take time to complete. My specialty is to create maps and game tiles and that is where I'd like to focus my efforts in the Endless Dungeon. If you are a good writer or have talent for creating new monsters, traps and so on and would like to share your creations, here's your chance.

How to Draw Original Fantasy Maps for your Fiction
This map could be printed in black and white in a paperback book if its mountains, forests, swamp and features are indicated entirely in textures. Let's add that dragon somewhere, if it's near the new islands to the south there may be dragons on them. Crosshatching the smaller island and part of the larger one shows something dangerous is there -- pretty obviously dragons.

I can see I'm going to have to check out your tutorial regarding the mighty GIMP. (I had to switch to GIMP recently when I found myself moving between too many different computers, that and the fact that Paint Shop Pro 8 is the most unstable program in any operating system ... more crashes than a demolition derby ...) I especially like "chunky" maps for my own games - none of this "knocking down interior walls" business (maps like the ones in the earlier part of this thread). I'm loving the application of module-blue style as well!
