Love Letter In A Bottle Romantic Personalized Gifts. Superhero ornaments. When I was a kid, my mom had a Christmas tradition of giving my brother and I each a new ornament every year.

They were always very fitting of our personalities and hobbies. It was something I looked forward to the most every holiday season. When we’d put our tree up my mom would hand a small package to each of us and, even though we knew it was an ornament, the excitement was almost too much. My mom never stopped giving us ornaments, it didn’t matter how old we got. She use to say, “You’re never too old for Christmas.” And I believe that 100%. When Curtis and I got married, we continued this wonderful tradition. Putting up our tree has special meaning. After nine years of spending the holiday season together, our Christmas tree is sporting some pretty awesome Batman and Star Wars ornaments…there’e even an Indiana Jones in there. And of course, lots of Mickey Mouse. Personal picture {clocks} ***Update: I was recently asked if you just keep the board the same size as the picture, and the answer is yes. :) Inevitably because of the cutting there will be a tiny bit of spacing you can see which is why we painted it, as well as to make the sides uniform as you don't want them to be brown mdf.

Unless you do, than that's ok too. ;) Sorry, I would have emailed you the info, but there's no contact. :) Finger Knitting How-to. You know how I just wrote about how I like getting a handmade gift more than just about anything.

Finger Knitting How-to

Well, this is anything. Sitting on the couch on a lazy Sunday, knitting with my kids . . . that beats gift-getting for sure. It is a gift itself. We just sat there side-by-side, for about an hour, feeling the warmth from each other’s bodies, listening to music from my computer and basking in each others company as the sun streamed through the windows. Ahhh . . .the experience was so delightful, it was hard to peel myself away to take the photos. The two kiddos are finger-knitting, which I’ve written about before and again, but it continues to be a favorite activity.

But wrapping these gifts in commercial paper didn't seem to make much sense, so I wanted to create some handmade gift wrap to match. I happen to think a gift wrapped in newsprint is actually quite attractive, and love the look of text on a package, but wanted to put in a little more effort. So I came up with a cool option that's clean, masculine, and maintains the typographic look of the newsprint. Creative Reuse of Paper : Scrapbooking Affirmations - Scrapbook Ideas. Was doing some “stumbling” yesterday…dangerous activity that.

Creative Reuse of Paper : Scrapbooking Affirmations - Scrapbook Ideas

Anyway, on the heels of yesterday mornings paper storage post, I thought this was a wonderful way to not only use up some scrap paper, but also a really positive way to get some scrapbooking affirmations into my life. You don’t even need to do affirmations, you can do inspiring quotes, or little activities that give you joy. [Update 9/24/12] Wow….I’m not sure why, but this page has gone seriously viral. Valentines Card. Valentines Pillow-Throw. Matchbox Chocolate Advent Calendar. Since Alex told me about his family following the german tradition of Advent calendars, I wanted to make one for him as a surprise; and that’s what I did!

Matchbox Chocolate Advent Calendar

An Advent calendar is a calendar that begins on 1st December and ends on Christmas; it consists of 24 little doors or boxes numbered from 1 to 24. Beginning on the first day of December, one door is opened each day, counting down the days remaining until Christmas Eve; behind each door is a treat, a piece of chocolate or a toy. I decided to make one with boxes of matches and fill each box with candy, jelly sweets, christmas ornaments and little notes. Plus, my calendar would have 5 rows x 5 columns as a matter of symmetry.

This year I made this adorable gift for my boyfriend. On a deck of cards, I thought of 52 reasons why I love him soo much (I could have easily come up with 1000 <3) I typed them out and cut them up.

Some cards I glued the white paper on and cut out patterned hearts. The other cards I backed the white paper with the same patterned paper and glued them on. Egg Note.
