a softer world: 747 emily A great documentary called Stripped just came out last week, about the transition between newspaper comic strips and webcomics. There are some great interviews in there, inclusing Bill Watterson (WHAT!). Find out more about it here, including how to watch it yourself! joey a softer world: 747

Comics! Comics! Arguing with true believers of any particular creed, myth, or ideal requires monumental patience and mental fortitude. That, or impotent rage and a serious masochistic streak. You could always just slam your head repeatedly into a wall, it might be less painful in the end. I generally find it’s not even worth bothering with, these days. Either people converse with the understanding that the participants are willing to admit when they’re wrong and accept new information that might change their point of view, or you might as well just speak to inanimate objects.
Comics, Quizzes, and Stories
Hyperbole and a Half Hyperbole and a Half Power is intoxicating. Everyone loves having the ability to make their decisions into reality — to think "this should be something that happens," and then actually be able to make that thing happen. It is also dangerous.
QuietAndSlow.com QuietAndSlow.com I decided to take a break from Late Blooming for a while, but I figured I should do a painting of Neeka to leave up on the site to announce this. I have more details of the story I want to clear up before I just pursue it for the sake of drawing a comic or having a project to show people. I’ve already proven to myself that I can draw comics, and complete a story, and I think I should spend more time crafting the story into something I can really believe in and be proud of, rather than just fulfill a numeric value of updates per week. Next time I think I’d like to thumbnail out the rest of the story before I get started so I can step back and look at the whole, edit it, and work on it with confidence. Plus, I’ve been really wanting to animate more lately, and I’ve felt the call to write and develop other projects (such as Robin in the City and some short stories).
Para-Ten The end!!!! If you’re new here, start from the beginning. Thanks so much to everyone who has read this comic. It’s been an illuminating experience. Para-Ten
Mark Doesn't Understand Animals There is going to be one of these every day for a while I think?????????? They will be on a tumblr that I made. That will be happening for an indefinite period of time. RSS is being updated again. I switched to tumblr's RSS, because I stopped understanding how Google Reader works, or if it even exists anymore. Bear Nuts by Alison Acton Bear Nuts by Alison Acton Splurt. That last panel Nerd is one of my favorites :) Today only on OtherTees you can get a screen print version of “Jack the Ripper”, which I would totally watch an animated Tim Burton version of… and today’s vote incentive is Dragons! Terribly inconvenienced dragons! Tangentally related, I was watching the latest “How to Train Your Dragon 2″ trailer again and apparently Dreamworks did not want that rather large plot point/spoiler in said trailer. Who edits the trailers then?
