While these methodologies are applicable to different types of design (adaptive, variant, etc.), they tend to emphasize design problems that seek "original solutions. " This emphasis provides a sound foundation for teaching engineering design; it also provides a foundation for establishing corporate design processes in industry. However, for the class of problems known as redesign (adaptive, variant, etc.), an emphasis on original design may be too general as a problem solving approach. Sferro, Bolling, and Crawford argue the legitimacy of this claim, based on an analysis of the current variant design processes in the automobile industry [Sferro 1993]. Given these introductory comments, a ten-step reverse-engineering design methodology is presented below. Figure 1.

Field Strength Calculator. This RF calculator has been developed by Compliance Engineering to convert between the various radiated RF field units that are referenced in EMC standards. EMC standards may reference limits for radiated RF fields in terms of V/m, dBuV/m, dBuA/m, pT, dBpT, Tesla, Gauss, A/m, mW/cm^2 or W/m^2. This calculator enables the EMC test engineer to quickly convert the referenced emission limit (or the measurement unit) to the desired unit for direct comparison. Photography Tutorial: A Quick Guide to Understanding Your DSLR Camera

With Labor Day weekend coming up, I know a lot of us are going to be out there taking pictures! :) Since we have a long weekend to practice, I wanted to share with you this basic intro to SLR photography. If you have an SLR camera and are nervous to take it out of auto mode, this is the tutorial for you. You may have heard words like aperture, exposure, and shutter speed and wondered just how on earth they come together to give you a better photo. I’ll give you a brief introduction on what they do and how they affect your photos turning out too bright, too dark, too blurry or JUST RIGHT. :) This guide will show you how to get the most out of your SLR camera and give you confidence to take it out of auto mode in no time! Left: Canon T2i. To start, let’s put your camera in Aperture Priority mode or Shutter Priority mode. 1. Let’s talk a little bit about Aperture. A low aperture will also give you a shallow depth of field. Canon 50mm f/1.8 f/1.8 1/200 sec ISO 800 Now you try!
