This work is a thought provoking photographic study of cars, which have been involved in serious and potentially fatal accidents. With this series, Nicolai Howalt moves between documentation and abstraction. Confronting the viewer with the human fear of trauma and death, he leaves us with a duality of feelings we experience when becoming witnesses of accidents or catastrophes from a distance.
