Engaging Students in Learning | Center for Teaching and Learning. Research has demonstrated that engaging students in the learning process increases their attention and focus, motivates them to practice higher-level critical thinking skills and promotes meaningful learning experiences. Instructors who adopt a student-centered approach to instruction increase opportunities for student engagement, which then helps everyone more successfully achieve the course’s learning objectives.

Flipping the classroom A pedagogy-first approach to teaching in which in-class time is re-purposed for inquiry, application and assessment in order to better meet the needs of the individual learners. Find out more The mandate of the Agrifood Technology Station (ATS) is to assist small and medium enterprises primarily, but also all other appropriate companies as a secondary goal, to improve their use of technology, implied improvement of efficiencies and also concomitant improved ability to employ more staff and empower such persons in terms of the field of technology in which it operates. ATS offers a wide range of services that can assist food and related companies in developing, enhancing and maintaining safe, efficient and cost-effective food production and processing. The University has a host of highly qualified and experienced staff, including scientists, technologists and technical assistants to assist with delivering this service to companies.
