Girly Blogs. 2012: The Year of the Kiwi. Or knew you wanted to know. Or were kind of curious about, but not enough to look it up or ask. You know what, scratch all that, I’m Canadian and I’ve only been here a month so these are basically just my first impressions. earthquakes | I’ve felt three earthquakes since arriving here in Christchurch one month ago, but they happen ALL THE TIME. Usually they’re around a 3 magnitude, no biggie. There’s been 19 just this week, according to www.christchurchquakemap.co.nz. Shopping | My first few shopping excursions resulted in a little bit of sticker shock. I’m not a huge fan of the shopping here, which is probably a good thing because it’s not like I arrived with that much extra space in my suitcase.

A somewhat-related aside: Children/water gerbil hybrids at the mall. A dialogue: "Have you seen a Canadian Tire around anywhere? "" I’ve also learned that I take IKEA for granted. I’m poor, ok? Dood and frink food and drink| Coffee is really good here. They make EVERYTHING with apricots here.
