The greatest benefit of flipped learning is the restructuring of class time, which is more of a pedagogical solution than a technological solution. However, the in-class benefit is dependent upon the utilization of technology tools. Flipped classroom 2.0 Learning Published on May 24th, 2014 | by Mark Anderson I’ve been a big fan and supporter of flipped learning for a long time. For those of you who don’t know, flipped learning is the attempt to take much of the instructional element out of the classroom in to the home via homework so that support of more difficult concepts and reinforcement can take place in the classroom. Jon Tait ran a small action research trial in his school which you can read about here – you can find it reblogged and written about in a number of places elsewhere too. For me, I like to include accountability and tracking with things that I do. With that in mind, when Michael Ha recently showed me in our AppSmashLive a tool he found called EduCanon I have to admit, I got somewhat excited. EduCanon allows you to link to a YouTube video and then intersperse a variety of questions at bespoke points throughout the video. The interface is really very simple to use. If so read on to see how you may still be able to recover it. Note: Unfortunately this trick will only work if you are a local administrator on your machine, if you are not you will be prompted by UAC for administrative credentials. Viewing Your Wireless Password From an Already Connected Machine To view your wireless network password we need to get to the settings for your network adapter, so press the Win + R keyboard combination and type ncpa.cpl in the run box, then hit the enter key. You will now see all the network adapters in your machine, right-click on the wireless one and select Status from the context menu. When the Wi-Fi Status dialog loads up, click on the Wireless Properties button. Then you will need to switch over to the Security tab. Finally, check the Show characters checkbox to reveal your password. That’s all there is to it.

STOP putting yourself down in front of your children/students and criticizing yourselves. children are little sponges that completely absorb that negativity and apply it to themselves without even considering that it might not be true. i had to counsel a second grader who was crying today because she said that she’d never be “good at art” because her mom told her that nobody in her family is “good at art.” talent isn’t hereditary. it takes PRACTICE and TIME and EFFORT. tell your children what you feel proud about instead of tearing yourself down in front of them. it does such incredible damage and makes me really sad. Four Assessment Strategies for the Flipped Learning Environment Flipped learning environments offer unique opportunities for student learning, as well as some unique challenges. By moving direct instruction from the class group space to the individual students’ learning spaces, time and space are freed up for the class as a learning community to explore the most difficult concepts of the course. Likewise, because students are individually responsible for learning the basics of new material, they gain regular experience with employing self-regulated learning strategies they would not have in an unflipped environment. But because initial engagement with new material is done independently as a preparation for class time rather than as its focus, many things could go wrong. One of the most important benefits of flipped learning is that it takes the teacher away from the front of the room. No longer is class focused on information dissemination, but instead, time can be spent helping students with difficult concepts and extending the learning to deeper levels. Perhaps the greatest benefit of flipped learning is that it gives teachers more time to interact with students one-to-one and in small groups.
