PayPal Mafia "PayPal Mafia" is a term used to indicate a group of former PayPal employees and founders who have since founded and developed additional technology companies such as Tesla Motors, LinkedIn, Palantir Technologies, SpaceX, YouTube, Yelp Inc., and Yammer. Three members, Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, and Reid Hoffman, have become billionaires. History Originally, PayPal was a money-transfer service offered by a company called Confinity which was acquired by X.com in 1999. Later X.com was renamed PayPal and purchased by eBay in 2002. The original PayPal employees had difficulty adjusting to eBay's more traditional corporate culture and within four years all but 12 of the first 50 employees had left. They remained connected as social and business acquaintances, and a number of them worked together to form new companies in subsequent years. Legacy Members

Paypal Vs Paydivvy I've been looking for an alternative to PayPal since it made a huge grinch out of itself this past Christmas by shutting down Regretsy's charity fund, claiming a misuse of the "Donate" button and resulting in a massive backlash and PR nightmare. Though the error was fixed and the money matters settled (and Christmas was saved!), since then, I've just never quite felt the same about using PayPal. As such, I want to start phasing out PayPal as much as possible. Though I may still need it for a lot of online shopping transactions, in the realm of personal and person-to-person transfers, I've found an alternative that so far seems like a better bet than PayPal. An that, my friends, is PayDivvy.
