With this necklace it turned out after the first attempt, the upper chain has to be shorter than the lower one, because otherwise the jewelry will not rest beautifully on the neckline. Broomstick Lace Bracelet This weekend I learnt broomstick lace. I saw a photo of a broomstick cuff on Ravely but the pattern just says “work 3 groups of 5 stitches of broomstick lace for the length of your wrist.” which wasn’t quite the level of detail I was hoping for! As with the crocodile stitch I’d been putting off learning this stitch because it looked quite complicated and there seemed to be a lack of left-handed written instructions, and again once I got my head around it it was actually quite easy. The most useful instructions I found were detailed written instructions from dayliliescreative.com - as usual though the instructions are for the right-handed majority so I’ve created a photo tutorial here for all the lefties out there to even things up a little. I think completing this pattern with a fluffy or highly textured yarn would be a bit of a waste – you need a nice smooth yarn that will show up all the stitches.

Porch pouf Crochet is perfect when you want to shape the yarn into certain shapes, and here´s a big round pillow dressed up with slip stitches. The pattern can be adjusted to fit any size round pillow. We crocheted the top and sides, and just pulled together in the bottom to avoid crocheting with the pillow inside. (The pouf is open under) It is important that the pillow you use for filling is big enough to stretch the cover properly, if you have a really soft and squishy pillow it has to be much bigger than the cover, or use more than one stacked on top of eachother. YarnPickles Fat&Happy, 500 g CROCHETED ROPE BASKET I love having little baskets and containers around to keep things tidy, and have really been wanting to experiment with different materials to crochet with recently. This little basket is not only a perfect way to practice crocheting with rope, but also to hold little odds and ends! For this project I used a Size P crochet hook and one package of clothesline rope. This rope is nylon, but it would be fun to use cotton rope and experiment with dyeing it different colors! How cute would it be to dye the rope a few different colors and make a giant granny square rug? Now, lets get to the project pictured above...

Zola- Bulky Stacked Shell Shrug/ Cowl- free crochet pattern ZolaBulky Stacked Shell Cowl and Shrug This bulky cowl is super simple to make. Its front post triple crochet and stacked 3dc shells give it a much more intricate look than the pattern really is. I love the versatility in this pattern. It can be worn as a regular cowl, a hooded cowl or even as a shrug. Another thing I love about this cowl is that it is made with regular worsted weight material, so its not heavy like it would be if it were made with a bulky weight yarn.
