Sliding loop : an easy way to begin granny square!
The double sliding loop is my favorite way to begin a granny square. I find this method fabulous as I can make the beginning ring the size I want. I worked it with a double ring as I find it more safe and easier to weave in end the tails. And here is a tutorial just to share with you my way to work : 1. 2. 3. 4. 6.And pull it through the loop on the hook 8. 9.Then pull the second tail to close the ring 10. Tuto petits paniers au crochet - ttiki

On commence par 4 mailles en l’air, puis une maille coulée pour former un rond. Tour 1 : 2 mailles en l’air (pour former la première bride), puis 7 brides dans le rond ; on ferme par une maille coulée. Soit 8 brides pour le panier petit modèle Ou 10 brides pour le panier modèle moyen Ou 12 brides pour le panier grand modèle Tour 2 : 2 mailles en l’air puis 2 brides dans chaque bride précédente ; on ferme par une maille coulée. Tour 3 : on prend le tour 2 et on recommence ! Tour 4 : 2 mailles en l’air puis 1 bride dans la maille extérieure précédente (cf photo) de manière à créer une « cassure » pour démarrer la base du panier. Tour 5 : 2 mailles en l’air, puis 1 bride dans chaque bride précédente ; fermer par une maille coulée. Répéter le tour 5 autant de fois que nécessaire pour arriver à la hauteur souhaitée.

Geschafft: Meine Foto-Anleitung zum Häkeln der Sunburst Flower Granny Squares für eine dieser tollen Decken, wie sie viele wahrscheinlich von Sandra Juto oder dieser Flickr Group kennen, ist fertig. Für eine Freundin, die heute Geburtstag hat, wollte ich schon längst mal meine kleine Übersetzung dieser englischen Anleitung von MaryjoO abtippen. Nun hab ich mir etwas mehr Zeit genommen, um die Anleitung noch etwas detaillierter auszuarbeiten. Dank des tollen Fußauslösers, konnte ich die ganzen Häkel-Schritte selbst fotografieren und da die liebe MaryjoO nichts dagegen hatte, stelle ich das Ganze nun auch hier in den Blog und wünsche viel Spaß beim Häkeln. Wolle: Cool Wool 2000/ Merino Superfein von Lana Grossa (Das aber nur als Info, ihr könnt selbstverständlich auch ganz andere Wolle nehmen. African Flower Hexagon Join-as-you-go Tutorial
Today was a quiet day...we spent it at home, just pottering about. Gerry had to go and do rounds, and the kids did homework while I photographed the tutorial. It was a warm, sunny summers day here in SA, and the kids spent the afternoon swimming.... A visitor asked for a tutorial on how to join-as-you-go when you are crocheting African Flower Hexagons... here you are .... Start with one completed hexagon. At the apex of the flower petal, (where you will do 2 DC into the same space , with a chain stitch in between), work up until you have made ONE of the 2 DC at the apex of the petal. Chain 1 st. Insert your crochet hook as shown, through the little hole of the other hexagon, at the petal point. Yarn around hook. Pull yarn through both the hole and the stitch on the hook. Yarn around hook... Yarn around hook again, and DC into the SC loops of the round before...just as above... Completing DC. Second DC into same space completed. Yarn around hook...
