One can look at it two ways: I either have a shortage of storage space or, I reluctantly admit, I have too much stuff. Well, I have a partner-in-crime but my husband will never admit it.

Half-way to heaven peanut butter cookies

This recipes is nearly all in halves, which makes it super easy to remember. It's brought to you by my friend Mallory's childhood nanny, who would make these for her growing up.

Sesame-Spiced Turkey Meatballs from The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook « Delicious Musings

http://www.deliciousmusings.com/?p=13400 Once I’d made my way through all 320-pages of Deb Perelman’s new book The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook , I knew a couple things (1) this would be a frequent resource for meals (2) her Sesame-Spiced Turkey Meatballs on page 167 were going to take precedence over all else – even the Almond Date Breakfast Bars on page 21.
http://www.purevege.com/2012/02/poor-mans-feast.html Khichdi, khichri, khichdee, khichadi, khichuri, khichari, khicri, khecheri and many similar names (that don’t sit well with a Western tongue) refer to a nutritionally balanced stew of rice and pulses, depending on the region it is prepared in. Despite of the linguistic acrobatics, the genius of Indian cuisine lies in the simple recipes.

seven spoons - main - Heidi, well done.

It is difficult to come up with something original to say about Heidi Swanson, when she's such an original herself. It's even harder when everyone else is talking about her, and her fantastic new book, Super Natural Every Day , as they should be.
The things you discover when you reorganise you pantry; in my case, Jaggery. Big, huge, nuggets of dark brown, unrefined, cane sugar. I don’t recall when I bought it or what I intended to use it for, but with a looming expiry date, it had to be put to good use soon. Jaggery is the sugar for traditional Indian sweets. The flavour ranges from fruity to caramel or treacly depending on the depth of colour. It is addictive stuff. http://thepatternedplate.wordpress.com/2012/03/13/sesame-seed-chikki-til-gul-jaggery/

Homemade Luna Bars!

Homemade Clif Bars have been done. And I’ve created many flavors of Homemade Larabars . But when, out of curiosity one day, I googled homemade Luna bars, I was surprised to find zero relevant results.

Baked Parsnip Fries

http://www.delightedmomma.com/2012/01/baked-parsnip-fries.html I had no clue what a parsnip was until I ventured into the land of homemade baby food making and started doing a little research. My son LOVED carrots (so much that he started turning orange) and I read that parsnips were very similar to carrots. Basically a parsnip is the ugly cousin to a carrot.

Michael and I talk all the time about how being married and eating together has changed the foods we eat. For instance, I didn’t eat much in the way of potatoes, hardly ever bought red meat, and had NEVER cooked steak of any kind before we were married. Now, potatoes find their way into our menu once every week or two and one of my favorite meals we’ve discovered together is a sort of steak stir-fry .

Breakfast is my favorite meal. I like to drink iced coffee and watch the cream climb its way down the chunky ice cubes in a dazy before the caffeine hits. I like to order bacon with whatever I’m eating.
Call me easily amused, but these little torch-topped cupcakes delight me. Besides being a cute novelty item for a party, I think they would add a little drama to the end of a romantic meal. I've been looking for something different to serve for Valentine's dessert, and this is definitely different. The strawberries are hollowed out and filled with a bit of liquor, then ignited with a match.
