By now, many of us are aware of the Leap Motion, a small, $70 gesture control system that simply plugs into any computer and, apparently, just works.

The Most Important New Technology Since the Smart Phone Arrives December 2012

If you’ve seen the gesture interfaces in Minority Report, you know what it does. More importantly, if you’re familiar with the touch modality – and at this point, most of us are – the interface is entirely intuitive. It’s touch, except it happens in the space in front of the screen, so you don’t have to cover your window into your tech with all those unsightly smudges. To understand how subtly revolutionary Leap will be, watch the video below, shot by the folks at The Verge, where you’ll also find more juicy details on the device’s specs and inner workings.

Unlike a touchscreen interface, with the Leap, there’s no friction. Plus, Leap operates in three dimensions rather than two. Occupy to self manage

Instead, I have been on the road for the past six weeks in Thesselonika and Athens Greece; Istanbul and Diyarbikar Turkey; Lexington, Kentucky; London, England; Dublin, Ireland; and in Barcelona, Madrid, and Valencia Spain. In all these places, I talked with diverse individuals at many meetings and popular assemblies. I met people involved in occupations, as well as audiences assembled by my hosts to hear about participatory economics. Beyond addressing assigned topics, my own priority was to learn about local movements.

I repeatedly asked what folks struggling for many months wished to say to other folks first embarking on similar paths. Boredom, Disempowerment, and Consensus Obstruct Growth In Greece and Spain, a single message predominated. Yet I heard, time after time, that nothing had diminished regarding the population’s rejection of unfolding injustices. Self Managements! Untitled. Utopies et avant-gardes.
