ThingLinkin avulla valokuviin ja videoihin voi lisätä havainnointia ja oppimista tukevaa lisäinformaatiota, kuten esimerkiksi tekstiä, kuvia, videota, ääntä tai linkkejä. ThingLinkin käytöstä on tullut suosittua erityisesti opetuksessa.
Yli kolmesta miljoonasta ThingLink-käyttäjästä jo puolet ovat opettajia ja oppilaita. Tähän suomenkieliseen blogiin on koottu ideoita ja esimerkkejä ThingLinkin kuva- ja videoeditorin käytöstä opetuksen välineenä. Yksittäisiä esimerkkejä ThingLinkin käytöstä opetuksessa on jo tuhansia, ja oheisen esitykseen on koottu lähes sata erilaista ideaa ThingLinkin käyttöön kouluopetuksessa. Yritämme tässä blogissa avata muutamia esimerkkejä yksityiskohtaisemmin ja löytää kiinnostavia näkökulmia kuvapohjaiseen oppimiseen ja sen tutkimiseen.
Miten interaktiivisten kuvien luominen kehittää monilukutaitoa ja tieto- ja viestintäteknologista osaamista? Jokin viikko sitten entinen kollegani Juha Leminen Helsingin yliopiston tutkijakoulusta laittoi minulle viestin ja linkin vuoden 2014 peruskoulun opetussuunnitelman, jonka laaja-alaisista osaamiskokonaisuuksista ThingLinkiin läheisesti liittyvät erityisesti Monilukutaito (L4) sekä Tieto- ja viestintäteknologinen osaaminen (L5). Ohessa muutamia ajatuksia siitä, miten interaktiivisten kuvien tuottaminen tukee rikasta tekstiympäristöä hyödyntävää pedagogiikkaa sekä monipuolisia tekstien tuottamisen ja yhdistämisen taitoja. Teksteillä tarkoitetaan tässä sanallisten, kuvallisten, auditiivisten, numeeristen ja kinesteettisten symbolijärjestelmien sekä näiden yhdistelmien avulla ilmaistua tietoa. Suomalaissyntyinen sosiaalisen median palvelu Thinglink on osoittautunut yksinkertaisuudessaan kerrassaan verrattomaksi myös opetuskäyttöön. Palvelun kaupallinen menestyshän taisi syntyä sillä, että yritykset julkaisivat kuvia, joista pääsi suoraan tilaamaan kuvan tuotteita. Thinglinkin maksuttomaan profiiliin voi ladata 100 kuvaa. Kuvaan voi pisteitä, joissa voi olla tekstiä, kuvia, videoita ja muuta verkkoon jaettua sisältöä. Pohjakuvana voi olla vaikka pelilauta ja pisteissä pelin tehtäviä tai pohjakuvana voi olla esimerkiksi solu soluelimineen ja pisteissä selittäviä videoita.
