We all know Japanese people prefer new stuff — new homes, new rice, new prime ministers every 12 months — which may explain why the used clothing business isn’t as big here as it is in other countries. According to the Asahi Shimbun, 50 percent of discarded used clothing in America is recycled , either commercially or as contributions, and the portion in South Korea is 80 percent. In Japan, it’s only 20 percent, meaning that the rest is simply trashed.

A bell (old Saxon: bellan , to bawl or bellow) is a simple sound -making device. The bell is a percussion instrument and an idiophone . Its form is usually a hollow, cup-shaped acoustic resonator , which vibrates upon being struck. The striking implement can be a tongue suspended within the bell, known as a clapper , a separate mallet or hammer, or in small bells a small loose sphere enclosed within the body of the bell.
