Reza Ardakanian talks to UN-Water

http://www.unwater.org/activities_Reza.html What are the challenges facing UN-Water in strengthening capacity building worldwide? Capacity building is a top priority for UN-Water, and we work hard to better coordinate and add coherence to all members' and partners' water-related capacity development activities… but there is always a need for improvement! Globally all the financial, natural and human resources needed to solve our water and sanitation problems exist; now the challenge is to get these resources to the right places and people at the right time. This means transferring the knowledge, financial resources and available technology in a targeted and effective manner.
The Ballast Water Treatment Technology Conference fully focused on providing shipowners/operators with the information they need to select the most appropriate long-term system solution for their fleet as the IMO Ballast Water Convention approaches entry into force. The sessions are chaired by respected industry figures, selected for their subject specific knowledge and recognised industry standing. Presentations are generally kept to 20 minutes and the timetable provides for questions and answers to flow between the panel and the floor. The overall conference proceedings are chaired by Edwin Lampert, Riviera's Group Managing Editor, and Chairman of the majority of Riviera Maritime Media's conferences including the Annual Marine Propulsion Conference, the Tanker Safety Conference, the Worldwide Turbocharger Conference and the European Dynamic Positioning Conference.
