http://thehousethatlarsbuilt.blogspot.com/2012/02/diy-friendship-bracelet-chevron-rug.html You know how friendship bracelets are totally back? Well, I can't quite bring myself to get into it after 15 years but I love the bright colors, the patterns, the idea of it....It got me thinking where else I could apply the process and I thought it'd be fun to make a huge friendship bracelet that you could walk on. You know, given my love of all things oversized.

My original inspiration was this one , though original source is apparently unknown, because I found it on Pinterest.

This cast-on is the favorite of many knitters. It creates a discreet edge that looks good with stockinette stitch and is stretchy enough to accommodate ribbing. It's easier to knit from than the simpler Backward Loop cast-on, and it's easy to execute once you get the hang of it. Recommended for beginners, or anyone.

Hand Embroidered Note : Daily source of DIY craft projects and inspiration, patterns, how-tos | Craftzine.com

I've seen several versions of hand embroidered notebook paper and handwriting, but I'm still quite smitten with this sweet, simple embroidered love note from katie.cupcake . What I love even more is the location where she decided to hang it ... above her toilet in the bathroom. I always forget about decorating the bathroom, but what a fun, unexpected place to find a bit of art like this!

DIY: Black on black matte french manicure | Live For Fashion

After posting a photo of my black on black, matte french manicure, I got a few e-mail requests asking how I did it. I decided to do a short tutorial. It’s an easy process, but there were a few things that I had to learn the hard way. Firstly, be sure to apply a top coat on top of the black. The matte polish seems to strip away the polish underneath and I found that adding a top coat helps to eliminate streaking.

DIY J. Crew Flowered Neckpiece | Chic Steals

http://www.chic-steals.com/2011/03/diy-j-crew-flowered-neckpiece.html I don’t think I ever posted the step-by-step tutorial for this. Woops! 1. Create the backing for your piece. I used an 18″ x 6″ piece of peach satin voile – and turned the edges under, hemming so as to conceal the raw edges.

How-To: Make a Custom Pair of Tap Pants @Craftzine.com blog

By Haley Pierson-Cox For me, summer in NYC means two things: 1) I will eventually wear a light skirt into the subway when my hands are full, and 2) on that day, when I step onto the stairs of the station, a gust of wind will come barreling up from below, lifting my skirt and showing my backside to anyone who cares to look. This year, on the very first nice day, my skirt flew up not once, but twice. http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2011/07/how-to_make_a_custom_pair_of_t.html

http://www.elsiemarley.com/straw-and-pompom-garland-tutorial.html a straw and pompom garland I ordered a bunch of natural straws from the lovely online shop, Imagination Childhood (they call them swedish straws). I bought them for another project (thursday's tutorial!), but I loved working with them so much I wanted to make a simple garland with them too. Obviously this can be done with plastic straws or even some pretty paper straws , if you don't have any swedish straws lying around.

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=355718.0 I got sick of waiting to go to Spotlight to buy a good bra pattern, I decided to DIY! This is good if you do not have a very large bust. I'm a 12C-ish, and this tutorial shows you how to make a basic padded bra. You can easily add underwiring, which - when I get some - I will add to this tute on how to put that in as well. I am going to buy a bra pattern, and give that a test run too, the most widely reviewed one that seems to be good is Kwik Sew 3300, so hopefully I can pick that up tonight as well as some bra-making supplies. You're probably wondering why on earth I am making my own damn bras?

Living with Punks: Tutorial: Land of Nod inspired Floor Cushion

After browsing page after page of Land~of~Nod and Pottery Barn Kids for years, I've decided to take the bull by the horns and make my own stuff! I started first by drawing my own 17" diameter circle. I had searched the Internet for a template to just print out, but couldn't find. Thankfully, for some unknown reason, I had a thingamajig compass in my craft storage. So, I reverted back to 5th grade and figured out how to make a nice round 17" circle!
