The group of men had stopped for a drink at the Cutter Hotel in Weymouth, Dorset, when Samantha Williams attacked Gary Bedler, a friend of the groom. Police said a friend of Williams, 28, had been talking to the group of men, one of whom was dressed in a mankini, outside the hotel just before 9pm on May 13 last year. Williams then launched the vicious attack on Mr Bedler, 39, ripping off the top part of his left ear with her teeth. Mr Bedler, from Weymouth, had to be taken to Odstock Hospital in Salisbury, Wiltshire, which specialises in plastic surgery.

But surgeons could not re-attach the missing part of his ear and were forced to cut a deeper hole instead.
