It was retailing for something like $165. I figured it would be pretty easy to diy. So I did. First, I looked around my house for leather-like items to cut up for the covers. I had a bag that my dog had chewed the straps on. I remembered an old red purse I had that would be perfect. I found an old green purse for a few dollars. I set out molding the pages out of white fimo that I had laying around.

I sandwiched them between the cut leather and mashed things around a bit. Time for round two. I did some reading about the Anthro necklace, and found a similar one on Etsy. It's called the marrow. Let's get rid of it. Take your drills (or screws or whatever) and push 'em through the soft substance to get it out of the inside. This shouldn't be too difficult. You don't need to mount the pieces into the vice for this. There is still alot of marrow on the inside. Take the file and keep working on the inside until nearly none of those dark areas are left. Take your time and try to do it as good as possible.

Vintage Buttons Necklace

A beautiful necklace made from old vintage buttons, a little ‘recovered in antique markets and some stolen from my mother. Here’s what you need: Sono molto orgogliosa del progetto che vi propongo oggi. Una bellissima collana fatta da vecchi bottoni vintage, un po’ recuperati ai mercatini dell’antiquariato ed un pò rubati alla mamma. Ecco cosa vi serve: First you need to put the buttons on the cloth looking for the composition of your choice. Per prima cosa dovete disporre i bottoni sul panno cercando la composizione che preferite. Be careful not to show too much glue, I was not very accurate and I spent a lot ‘to clean up the excess. State attento a non far vedere troppo la colla, io non sono stata precisissima ed ho passato un bel po’ a pulire quella in eccesso.

Once the buttons are glued cut the cloth so that you do not see the border. The project is almost finished, it will be enough to sew the chain and the necklace is finished!
