Beams Chair by Eric and Johnny Design Studio The Beams Chair, designed by two Taiwanese designers, Eric Chang and Johnny Hu of Eric and Johnny Design Studio , is inspired by the iconic construction of the Golden Gate Bridge. The chair is made up of three types of wood sheeting, bent plywood, multiplex and aircraft plywood, each serving a specific purpose and when used in conjunction, eliminates weight and increases stability. The chair was shown at the [D3] Design Contest for young designers at IMM Cologne , and was prototyped by by Sebastian Bächer of Tischlerei Bächer .

“My parents started a business in Scotland designing and making soft-toy kits,” says Jonathan Levien, one half of the London-based husband-and-wife design team Doshi Levien. “There were all kinds of animals.
