The area of study falls inside the metropolitan are of Pontevedra, an area of diluted urban tissue.This paradigmatic situation is continuous all along the Galician coast line; therefore the problem to tackle is far beyond our site.We have taken into account and deeply studied Pontevedra’s relationship with the productive land. In 1566, the area around the city was declared “dehesa real”, royal meadow, where all the trees were listed as to obtain wood for war ships.Later in the 70’s ENCE, a paper mill, settled in the surroundings, shifting the economy and reshaping the landscape with intensive and more economic productive species.Our strategy links very strongly in one hand land production and land reclamation and in the other, material production and material consumption. It intends to recuperate the value of productive land, using making temporary use of construction plots before they are built.STUDIO BANANA ®
