http://www.kotaku.com.au/2011/11/the-wonderful-shady-world-of-knock-off-nintendo-consoles/ The Nintendo Entertainment System, and its Japanese sibling the Famicom, were two of the most successful video game consoles to ever be released. Which led to a lot of, let’s say, imitators. OK, no, let’s say complete unlicensed rip-offs.

By Lesley-Anne McKeown – 14 January 2012 Gay rights campaigners have reacted with fury over plans to host a religious conference encouraging people to turn away from homosexuality. The two-day 'reparative therapy' event organised by the Core Issues Trust is being hosted at Orangefield Presbyterian Church in east Belfast next weekend.

I liked Uncharted 2, but I thought the Chloe and Elena dynamic was cheese. People call them out as being strong female characters, but they're really not. They're just female characters who's dialogue doesn't entirely suck. Both pretty much boil down to the angel and devil on Drake's shoulders, and both play up to cliches of women in the media. Chloe from Uncharted 2 is dangerous, seductive, conflicted, deceptive. Basically she's a femme fatale, there to tempt Drake and lead him down paths that generally mess him up.
A trip down memory lane as we compare some of our favorite electronics to those of yesteryear. The Cost of Technology We always complain when we see the price tag on that crazy new gadget or new TV. But when you look back at some of the electronic wonders Sony and RCA were throwing out on the market 30 years ago, you realize that we really can’t complain. Figure inflation into the comparison, and that snazzy Hi-Def-Whatever-It-Is seems like a steal.

And if the synopsis is any indication, it looks as though a whole new gang of idiots has screwed-up PKD's "We Can Remember It For You, Wholesale", the basis (supposedly) for the cheese-tastic Arnie-fest that was the first "Total Recall", yet again. Grr... And why in the world would you re-make yet another Stallone movie?! Dropping the "Judge" doesn't make it a new movie, Hollywood.

20 Salads Hearty Enough for Tonight's Dinner

We love to make big salads for dinner at our house. The salad that I make most frequently is a taco salad. It’s one of my comfort foods. But I also make lots of other different varieties, including rice and pasta salads. Including meat, beans, or whole grains is a great way to add more substance to a salad. http://blogs.babble.com/family-kitchen/2011/08/28/20-salads-hearty-enough-for-tonights-dinner/

Rainbow Cake in a Jar

I’ve always had a penchant for sunshine in a jar. Doesn’t the very phrase itself, “sunshine in a jar,” roll off your tongue and fill your mouth with magic? While I’ve never yet found myself a sunshine in a jar, I think we may have just concocted it in our kitchen tonight. In this simple recipe, a basic white cake is turned into a slew of bright colors, baked to perfection, then topped with a creamy white frosting. Cakes baked in jars can be topped with traditional metal canning lids and stored in the fridge for up to five days.
