Knit in garter stitch for 30 rows (15 bumps). Switch to Silke-Tweed color B and knit in garter stitch 30 rows (15 bumps). Repeat with colors C and D. Repeat four color pattern until scarf measures 76". Bind off loosely. Using Koigu, apply garter ruffle to surface and double ruffles at either end. Weave in ends. Winter 2006 - editor. One cowl is made from two skeins. If you're making it all yourself, you'll need one skein of each color. If you're working with a friend, both knitters should choose a color they love, and make one of each of the two links in their chosen color. This project uses a provisional cast on. Holes will form in your work at the turning points of the short rows; don't worry! This is to be expected. One of these holes will be used as a buttonhole when the project is completed.
