" (Gilles Saucier) The Saucier-Perrotte project suggests a site development in harmony with the Parc de la Cité's natural vegetation, by adding a rectangular north-south oriented building almost entirely concealed by the existing flora. The denuded and urban esthetical expression of this architecture creates a contrast with the rustic and natural character of the immediate environment. The arrival is characterized by a large and central public place, connecting the library to the various outdoor areas (parks, pedestrian walkway, bicycle paths, bus stops and parking areas) which are distinguished by the materiality of their grounds.

Buying the house the Investor assumed that it will have to be rebuild to meet his needs. Z założenia budynek miał dostać formę bardzo współczesną. Jedyną rzeczą jaka się z tym kłóciła były stare, secesyjne meble, które kolekcjonował Inwestor w swoim poprzednim miejscu zamieszkania, a które bezwzględnie musiały zostać zaadaptowane w nowym.

The house is designed as a vertical garden giving space to flora and fauna to grow in a densly urbanised area. Closed private spaces contrast with open collective spaces, that seem to have been ‘carved out’ from the solid volume as a continous transparent void. In this way the interior space is visually and physically connected to the street, the garden and roof terraces.
Three bedrooms, a small bathroom, WC and a ‘multipurpose hall’ are situated on the groundfloor whereas the first floor remains completely open for living, cooking and eating, flooded with daylight. Neither opulent nor austere, Holy Rosary Chapel presents a thoughtful meditation on sacred spaces and the spatial embodiment of spiritual experience.
The masterplan for the rural campus creates a strong sense of place and draws a distinction between the program’s sacred and secular components. Secular components of the campus take form as linear or “edge” buildings – an administrative block, two linear classroom bars, a religious education building – which form the courtyard in which the oratory is located.
