Tonight, at 9.30 p.m. ET, we’re teaming up with (RED) to premiere the documentary “The Lazarus Effect” on the Join(RED) YouTube Channel. The half-hour documentary, directed by Lance Bangs and executive produced by Spike Jonze, captures a series of powerful testimonials from HIV positive patients. Many of these stories seem like miracles, but they aren’t. They’re made possible through access to two pills a day -- two pills that cost just 40 cents. “The Lazarus Effect” conveys a message of hope that needs to be heard by the world. That’s why this informative movie will be available globally on YouTube, with closed captions and translated in 52 languages through our automated translation tool. Remember: for as little as 40 cents a day, we can win the fight against AIDS. Thomas Gayno, Marketing Manager, recently watched “Prague's Kafka International Named Most Alienating Airport.”

How The Male Angler Fish Gets Completely Screwed. Senseless violence! Moments ago... So! I'm driving home from watching the Jazz game (Jazz destroyed Denver, spoiler alert) in the comfortable confines of Park Street. It's taking me forever to get home because you know how if you miss one light on 19th East you miss them all? At a stop light I get to know the cars around me and see a shiny Honda full of kids and a trashier white car full of kids and a Jeep Cherokee full of who knows what.

When 19th curves around and turns into Cottonwood Expressway, the Cherokee flips it's brights on, and now I think "That's not very nice, doesn't he know that's probably bothersome to the Honda in front of him? " We get to the intersection where I would normally turn to go home. Without thinking at all, I simultaneously try to throw my car into park, flip on my brights, honk my horn, call 911, and undo my seatbelt and get out of my car. I'm not trying to puff myself up here, and as you'll soon find out I didn't actually do anything. What do I do? I wasn't thinking, at all. Pixie. Mind Hacks: The rehabilitation of Phineas Gage. Medical journal Neuropsychological Rehabilitation has a fascinating article on Phineas Gage’s years after his dramatic injury, updating previous accounts and suggesting he made a remarkable recovery after his initial change in character.

The piece is co-authored by Malcolm Macmillan, author of the definitive Gage book An Odd Kind of Fame and can contains many important updates and corrections on the story since the biography was released. Unfortunately, the article is locked behind a $30 paywall (harsh, bit it keeps the plebs out) which is a pity as it carefully dsicusses Gage’s post-injury life and notes that while he seemed to have a marked change in character and behaviour shortly after the tamping iron was blown through his frontal lobes, in the long-term, he seemed to recover very well.

Reviewing Phineas’ post-accident history we note:1. He resumes work on the family farm within four months of the accident, and seeks his old job as foreman within another four.2. Mountsberg Raptor Centre! Last Monday, after TCAF, we got to go to the Mountsberg Raptor Institute. Yuko's longtime friend Amy showed us around, telling us a lot about the birds and allowing us to hold several of them. Some pictures from the visit below, This is Teddy, the star of today's strip - she's the friendliest owl you'll ever meet. If you hold her for a while she'll lean into you and fall asleep - totally cute. Awww yeaaah. This is Amy and Pawgwa, an adolescent bald eagle. Pawgwa's wingspan is huge. Majestic. This was when Teddy was falling asleep on TK. That's a lovely scarf you have, Miz TK. Takenya is my homegirl. Don't eat Otis! We are totally ready to fight some bad guys. The last owl we met was Hutton.

That was our trip to Mountsberg! Archive #617; A Day of Earnest Efforts. I went to lunch today at a new market-slash-sandwich place that just opened in my neighborhood. It was really good! The market (and neighborhood) is the type to offer fancy organic cold-pressed juice for eleven dollars and artisanal almond milk that comes in something that looks like baby food jars, so when I got this fork to eat my side salad with, at first I wasn’t sure if it was something exotic and fancy: This is either a manufacturing defect OR a bold step forward in forkery that the rest of us will have to catch up to pic.twitter.com/gFPA2aj6ZY— David Malki !

(@malki) April 3, 2014 I used the strange fork to eat my salad and was pleased to find that it worked really well! The tiny serrations on the tip helped spear the individual salad leaves very securely. “Aha,” I thought, “someone has improved upon the simple fork!” I went up and asked the guy behind the counter if all his forks were like this, and he laughed and assured me they were not. I had the guy check the other forks. Archive #599; The Boilerplate Clause. I went to lunch today at a new market-slash-sandwich place that just opened in my neighborhood. It was really good! Had I been struck by the sort of coincidental circumstance that led to the invention of Post-Its, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, and representative democracy?? I began to search the patent records. Posted Apr.03.14 at 08:23 pm Smut Peddler IS BACK!! The long-anticipated SECOND ANTHOLOGY full of LADY-FRIENDLY, LADY-CREATED COMIC BOOK PORN is finally available for preorders via Kickstarter, and it’s RIGHT HERE!! And, as you may recall, I have a story in it, and it’s my first time doing comic porn since college (uhh, huhh, privately, for myself, and promptly burned after its creation).

While my name won’t be on the physical book because I love my family and many of them are good wholesome people with a rare last name who are currently looking for jobs in government and missionary work, you’ll see a smattering of my artwork on the Kickstarter page. :) If you missed out on the first Smut Peddler, don’t wait this time! You know you’ll forget again! JUST GO ORDER IT NOW! The money that’s raised beyond our goal (which, holy frijoles, we’ve already MET, good job!!) Oh, AND check out the stellar lineup!

One last note: THANK YOU to J.T.P. and everyone else (many of whom are mysteries!)
