Project Based Learning | BIE. Global Read Aloud Letter. 9/11 Day - Join the 9/11 Tribute Movement. Mystery Skypes 2012-2013 - Home. Mystery Skype – Who Could it Be? : Mr. Avery's Classroom Blog. Today we had a chance to Mystery Skype! The students had no idea what class we were skyping with.

Their goal was to cooperate as a team to try to figure out the location of that class. There were a few rules to the Mystery Skype. Students had to ask closed questions (yes or no answers). Classes went back and forth asking questions to help them find the location. If a class asked a question that received a yes answer, they got to ask a follow up question. In order to be as efficient as we possibly could, students chose different roles for the afternoon. We also had two question keepers. Once our inquirers got answers to their questions, we had three Google Mappers who used online maps to search based upon the clues. Our runner was quite the multi-tasker. Our last two jobs were our logical reasoners and clue keepers. So many great questions were asked on each side.

The next step was to try to figure out whose class we were skyping with. We want to thank Mrs. Oreo 2012 - Information. Welcome to the O.R.E.O. Project 2012! (Our Really Exciting Online Project) Classrooms around the world are invited to participate. Classrooms will need to have each student stack oreo® cookies as high as he or she can and then average all their individual results to achieve a final Class result. Project Dates: September 17 to October 12, 2012 EXTENDED to October 19, 2012!! IMPORTANT INFORMATION You will measure the COUNT of cookies used to stack -- NOT height of stack. Each participating class needs at least 1 bag of Nabisco's Oreo® Chocolate and Creme Sandwich Cookies.

Students will estimate how many oreos they are able to stack before their oreos® tumble. Students are NOT to use anything to stablize the cookie and they are NOT able to adjust cookies as they stack. Each student will have TWO attempts to stack oreos® and will record the highest amount they were able to stack before tumbling. After you have the class average, please visit the submission page to share your results.
