Spiral Garden System by Benet Dalmau, Saida Dalmau, Anna Julibert & Carmen Vilar. Spiral Garden System Fit for Urbanites Another awesome concept from IIDA, the Spiral Garden System is a proposal for a sustainable public garden that’s totally self-sufficient. The architecture adds interest to the urban landscape with its transparent, yet suggestive mesh cage. Native vegetation greenhouses coexist with urban orchards along a walkway that just beckons to be used. It’s a great “twist” on the typical urban garden and looks to be well suited for any plot size. Lovegrove Studios developed a new structure dubbed Apline Capsule. The capsule seems to complement the surroundings and assimilate with the nature. Solar panels installed on the capsule along with a vertical axis wind turbine provide power to the futuristic construction.

The Alpine Capsule has a gleaming glass skin, which provides a 360 degree panorama of the landscape. Moritz Craffonara is the one to inspire Lovegrove Studios to build the capsule. Mr Craffonara lives in the Alpine Dolomites of Italy. His idea was to have a bed right under the stars, which is why he contacted a famous designer to help him accomplish the wish. The construction represents an eight-meter structure featuring a double-glass skin roofed with a special reflecting coating, which was developed with the goal of showing the capsule's surroundings. Most works created by Lovegrove point out the fact that their master tries to pay more attention to sustainability and self-sufficiency. Powered by www.infoniac.com. Tunel de Viento Produce energía de trenes pasando. In order to tackle the vehicular traffic problem, cities around the world are building underground subway systems that would cut the number of vehicles on the roads.

But in addition to reducing the amount of cars on city streets, Korean designers Sinhyung Cho, Hong Sun Hye and Ryu Chan Hyeon thought about creating a conceptual underground system that would generate renewable energy. The team designed an underground tunnel for big cities. The futuristic tunnel is able to produce clean energy by making use of the wind power that is generated by passing subway trains, informs Designboom. Designers called their project simply the Wind Tunnel. The power obtained from the system can be then used to electrify a number of facilities located on the ground. Powered by www.infoniac.com. Going Beyond CO2 Reduction to Carbon Negative To create a city that absorbs CO2 like a plant, we will employ environmental technologies to achieve a carbon negative system. Switch to a Compact City and Conversion of Industrial Structure (CO2 Reduction: About 40%) Reduce CO2 through more efficient transportation and distribution resulting from the shift to a compact city. Energy Conservation (CO2 Reduction: About 30%) At 1,000m above the equator, the temperature is around a comfortable 26°C. Power Generation Using Natural Energy (CO2 Reduction: About 30%) We will fully employ a range of natural energy sources including space solar power satellites, ocean thermal energy conversion, waves, wind and solar power. CO2 Recovery and Ocean Sequestration (CO2 Reduction: About 30%) The CO2 absorption capacity of the ocean is thought to be orders of magnitude greater than terrestrial forests. Electricidad Lunar. The Energy Paradigm Shift Opens the Door to a Sustainable Society A shift from economical use of limited resources to the unlimited use of clean energy is the ultimate dream of all mankind. The LUNA RING, our lunar solar power generation concept, translates this dream into reality through ingenious ideas coupled with advanced space technologies. Virtually inexhaustible, nonpolluting solar energy is the ultimate source of green energy that brings prosperity to nature as well as our lives.

Shimizu Corporation proposes The LUNA RING for the infinite coexistence of mankind and the Earth. How Lunar Solar Energy Reaches the Earth Transmitting Energy from the Moon to the Earth The Solar Belt Made from Lunar Resources -Constructing a lunar solar power plant- Exploiting Lunar Resources Lunar resources will be used to the fullest extent possible in constructing the Solar Belt. Creating Lakes in the Desert: A Proposal for Creating a Network of Canals and Exploring New Ways to Inhabit Our Planet The Desert Aqua-Net Plan is a concept for making use of the desert, which currently accounts for some one-third of the Earth's total land area.

According to this idea, multiple manmade lakes will be created in depressed areas of deserts, after which artificial islands will be built on the lakes. Filled with seawater introduced through canals, the lakes will then be connected to form a water network. By creating waterways in the desert and transforming arid and semiarid areas into inhabitable land, this plan (which is still in the simulation stage) ultimately seeks to build cities on manmade islands that have been formed on seawater lakes. Overview of the Plan Securing water is the key issue when developing a desert. 1.
