DIY: Greenscreens and Backdrop or Background Stands | Life is a Prayer.com

This article will explain how to design and assemble bluescreens, greenscreens and backdrops for photos and video, as well as how to easily and inexpensively build a portable frame to support these backdrops (or other things like quilts, etc.) out of PVC pipe or metal conduit. (NOTE: Please be sure to read some of the extra notes at the bottom of this guide for optimal performance). For amateur or hobbyist photographers and video producers, coming up with the money for a nice, $200 (and up!) http://www.lifeisaprayer.com/articles/photography/diy-greenscreen

DIY Clean eyes!

Hand Painted Floor Cloth

I’ve deemed my floor cloth finished…for now. I ended up not putting a binding on the edges because I realized that any type of fabric on the edges (I was planning on using quilt binding) would make it difficult to sweep the floor cloth. Right now without the binding, I can sweep things right off of the floor cloth with ease. With the binding, I’m afraid that dirt and junk would get caught up underneath the fabric. Definitely not a good thing.

Life in the Fun Lane: Card Catalogue Dresser

http://www.inthefunlane.com/2011/04/card-catalogue-dresser.html I have no idea where my love of labeling things comes from. But gosh I love me some clearly labeled drawers, instructions, illustrations. Anything with a label makes my heart skip a beat. I think it is the perfectionist, OCD side of me fighting to break free. But I guess there are worse things to be in love with than a well labeled dresser?
I saw these on the Anthropologie website and knew I needed them. But who wants to pay $48 dollars for a pillow case? So I made theses instead. I think they turned out pretty great. Plus I finally got to use this cream and white stripped fabric I've been dying to use but haven't found the right project for. I used the tutorial from MADE for pillow case dimensions and basic assembly. http://homestitched.blogspot.com/2011/02/anthropologie-inspired-ruffled-pillow.html

pallet reading bed for the nursery

UPDATE: For those following a link directly to this post, you can find pictures of the entire nursery HERE UPDATE: I recently found out the owner of the bed that inspired mine, check out her incredible site HERE When we began planning the nursery I really wanted a spot I could read with our kids and snuggle with them. Since I won’t be working as much, I have great hopes that maybe every once and a while I could cuddle down for a nap with one of them. So in working on the nursery, I began working on a ‘reading bed’ for us. Granted this will be a great bed for naps and for kids, but it is not designed to be an adult bed. I was inspired by this picture and then made it my own. http://ashleyannphotography.com/blog/2009/06/29/diy-pallet-reading-bed-for-the-nursery/
10 hours About $75 Skill Level Moderate Cutting the angles on the sides requires planning and finesse, but attaching the framed-glass lid is fairly simple. Not all gardeners have the luck to live in temperate climes. Instead of battling frost, install a cold frame to protect your plants like a mini greenhouse. Its natural warmth lets you foster seedlings in early spring and keep veggies going through fall and even into winter. This Old House senior technical editor Mark Powers shows how to build the box from rot-resistant wood and a salvaged window. Once it's finished, choose a south-facing spot in your yard where water won't pool, and enjoy all that extra gardening time.
