DIY Dimensional Paper Flowers / Other Projects. Difficulty Rating: Intermediate Flowers are definitely a crafting staple. They seem to be that one embellishment that you can pop onto just about anything to add a little interest, drama, or pop of color. So I never tire of coming up with new ways to create them! I would be willing to bet that you would not be able to guess which punch I used to create the above flower. 1. 2. 3. 4. Play around with layering different sizes and colors.

I knew a wreath would be a fun way to display my flowers, but I couldn't find a wreath base around the house. Loving an Immature Leo. DIY Geometric Favor Boxes. Wrap your gifts with confetti in Craft ideas for original gifts and presents. Feature Friday- Faux Brass Wall Clock. I redecorated my study about a year ago, painting the walls a deep gold and adding a whole wall of bookshelves in a dark wood. The study is where I spend a whole lot of my time as the computer lives there, so I wanted it to be a warm, friendly place.

It is by far my favorite room in the house. One wall, however, has remained blank as I haven’t come across the right thing to put there. I wanted some sort of large wall clock- something that made a statement. So what better way to make a statement than a clock made of recycled toilet paper tubes? For this project I used: One inexpensive plastic clock About 30 toilet paper tubes One cereal box Hot Glue Antique Brass Metallic Spray Paint One sheet scrap booking paper Number decals I began by removing the plastic cover from the clock and then cutting up my toilet paper rolls. I wanted larger curls, so I used the hot glue gun to glue two strips together before I made each curl. A very simple project, actually. I won’t lie here. Signing you up! Felt Flowers.

TP Tube Wall Art. If you filed away the idea of making cardboard wall decor after seeing Suzy Myers' surprising faux iron scrollwork, now is probably the time to be saving up a supply of toilet paper tubes. I noticed a commercial for the Scott's Naturals tube-free variety a few nights ago, and realized cardboard rolls may soon be a thing of the past. The ad is a wonder of tp roll skyscrapers and such... wish I could share it with you here, but alas, no one has posted it on YouTube yet. (But it seems even tp rolls can stir up controversy, as you'll see in this video!) Leaving that behind, I didn't have to look far to find lots of inspiring cardboard tube decorating ideas. Here's a terrific family tree idea and tutorial by a young mom who blogs from Alaska at No Dime Design. Inspired by an image in a Bed Bath and Beyond circular, she used paper towel/tp rolls to shape branches and leaves.

She throws some of my favorite parties I’ve ever been to like: her bicycle wedding, her bus birthday party, and her film festival birthday party. I’m so happy to have her here. I love parties that involve surprises. DIY Party: Glitter Confetti Eggs Confetti eggs (aka Cascarones) are like mini pinatas for your head. We decided to shake things up in our hunt this year by turning it into more of a game. Party Rules * Hide your confetti eggs as you would normal eggs, and let your friends go hunting for them.* Once everyone has collected the eggs (or as the eggs are found – your choice), the *kindly* smashing upon heads begins.* No throwing eggs!

Variations: If you’re really feeling feisty (and don’t mind a messier activity), I think it would be fun to leave a few eggs raw, just to keep things interesting (and provide some real motivation for running from the egg smashers coming toward you). 1. 5. Blog Love : Oh Happy Day. Oh Happy Day is one of the loveliest, cutest, most creative blog I know of. It is written by Jordan, a party planner and letterpress printer, and updated daily featuring DIY party projects, party planning ideas, interior design, weddings, letterpress and invitations, design, photography, an occasional kid product and anything “pretty”. It always makes me happy to read it! And there is also much, much more wonderful and inspirational content on Oh Happy Day! Wild Olive Stitch Swap « Stars & Sunshine. Last month, I joined an embroidery hoop swap at wild olive.

When I signed up, I provided some colors and things I like. I got this information about someone else, and whipped up a four inch ready to hang embroidery hoop based on those likes. And someone else should sending me a surprise package in the mail! My partner’s identity is a secret until she receives the package, but until then I thought I’d share what I made. I’m especially pleased with the little heart between the two birds – its made with a bit of the green thread and a bit of the blue thread wrapped together. Along with the embroidery hoop, I made a little zipper pouch to send my partner as well.

Its a ribbon surrounded by a zipper so that it zips up into this tetrahedron pouch. Here’s the full embroidery hoop (with some information that would give away my partner’s identity conveniently hidden by the zipper pouch). I had a surprisingly great time whipping this embroidery hoop up. Like this: Like Loading... Ellinée Design House. These are so simple to make, because Sassafras has generously provided a free printable template. Print the template onto the inside of an 8.5 by 11 piece of card stock. These little boxes are easy to open and close, and would be perfect for a little Mother's Day gift like earrings or a necklace.

More Quilled Lettering! Ready for some more fab lettering? Today's examples were created by a quilling newbie who was inspired by Yulia Brodskaya, just like Kara from Monday's post. Erin Casner quilled Everything is Awesome as her very first project! While expecting a baby, she wanted to make colorful wall art for the nursery. Not having proper quilling paper and tools certainly didn't stop her... Erin snipped the end off the eye of a needle to use as a rolling tool and cut strips of lightweight cardstock from her stash. She says she learned a few lessons from this piece - such as making the lettering larger than just an inch tall (larger makes it easier to be more precise) and using colored paper instead of white for the letters. Consider these rainbow paloozas as Erin calls them - love that! Next, Erin made this Imagine piece, also for the baby's room. This nice, big C is her most recent piece for the nursery.

One of the most important aspect of any room is the color and texture of the wall.

With a great choice of color and some coordinated accessories, one does not have to spend too much time to give any room a makeover. While it is a very big decision zeroing in on the color and pattern as well as the texture but once done there would be a definite class added to your place. So take time and browse, look at the finish available, try and look for the color combination recommended and once you are sure about it ..Bingo ! Half job done :) With the walls done to your liking there will be less pressure and little time required to finish the decor. Here I have selected some very beautiful textures and prints in some of the most awesome colors. Do keep in mind the mood of the room and the purpose/activity for which the room would be used. Colors which are bright and have energy like red or orange would not be appropriate for a bedroom, so use them in bits and splashes. Combination: White+Blue+Green.
