Based on a 25-hectare site in east London, the London Sustainable Industries Park -- as depicted in this CGI image -- hopes to lay the foundations for a cleaner and profitable future for businesses and residents of Dagenham. The design of the park also incorporates tree planting and swales which help mitigate local water and air pollution, as this architect's image shows.

Design Competition Yields Bikes Of The Future
Oregon Manifest , a nonprofit located in Portland, has been running a competition over the last few months in which students and pro teams work to create a next-generation city bike. This isn’t about speed (like the McLaren Venge ) or concept design (like the Vienna Bike ), but rather about creating a bike that provides the maximum amount of utility for someone looking to ditch their automobile. These innovation-from-competition events are really blowing up; there have been lots lately aimed at creating everything from mega-efficient cars to electrically-powered aircraft . This one had 34 entrants who mostly had some variation of a cargo bike with electric assist, but they all varied in execution. I have to agree with the people’s choice, though, a collaboration between IDEO and Rock Lobster (pictured). You can see the other winners here (I like the campus bike and the two-seater), but the Faraday , as the IDEO-Rock Lobster bike is called, really just hit me right in my future bone.What is a Social Entrepreneur? @casher:Hey buddy,SixthSense ? device is in a concept stage,it is not fully developed.We should appreciate the inventor Pranav who not only developed this but also released as open source.Since it is in an initial or starting stage,pranav and his teams would be on the development side and might be real busy.Some over there in MIT Teams or voluntary documentation team has to be set up to provide documentations and so those people who cannot understand what to do with all the information currently available to them has either wait or learn by themselves,after all invention has already been done ,the oly thing is running it.Do it,make error and do post,people will love to help and also come up with ideas.But some people has lots of question like ....where can i download the code ?(Even though link is out there) etc...I think this being a software engineering project with a new concept,the people should have some knowledge about computer hardwares like connecting devices,running programs.
